Dark0ne became offended and thier was much discussion about the subject. ohGr Posted December 9, 2003 Share Posted December 9, 2003 as of now theres just a "dictator" hiding behind his "lackeys" trying to recreate germany when hitler took controll, if we speak even the slightest of him, boom, strike/ban, and i can see this thread getting locked because the moderators and administrator simply dont know the idea of a "good forum" is, ive been to many forums, i used to go to the metalshop forums, where anything went, and we all kept it civilised, with the occasional argument and the occasional idiot who would run in and shout "your all gay!", but we managed to either ignore him, or ban him, and there wernt any moderators, just 2 administrators and they kept the forum at its best, although now theyve slacked off and and some idiots took the whole forum too seriously and turned it into world war 2, which is whats happening to this forum, all the time, posts deleted no logical explanation, and people banned for no intelligent explanation, providing they didnt do anything wrong in our minds, but if this keeps up, you jokes will loose everyone who goes to this forum, just over little things that dont even matter, and eventually, no one will care, and just ignore you people, this vulking forum clearly has too many moderators, who dissapear and show up at the last minute, all a forum needs is 1 administrator, and depending on the forum, at the most, 1 moderator per section, if he cant do his job and take the responsibility, then kick him.but all i can really say is, this forum would be a better place if half the moderators got KICKED OUT. That isn't for disagreeing, its for not having the basic maturity to make your points without insulting someone. It was the "Dark0ne = nazi" comment that got him a strike, not his argument. If nobody here can take civilized criticism, then why is this thread still open, and on its 4th page? As for your other forums, that's nice but not at all relevant. If that's the type of forum they want to run, fine. But here you're expected to behave or you're out of here. Now here's a message for you and a few others: locking/moving/deleting posts is NOT some evil conspiracy against you. Its simply maintaining an organized forum. NOBODY gets banned for a single locked thread or deleted post. So please, just drop this argument. As for your too many mods argument, I'd be happy to mod the entire forum by myself, just as soon as you find a way to clone me so I can still sleep/have a life/etc. We can't be here 24 hours a day, so someone's got to cover the rest of the time. Like it or not, we need this many mods, if only to keep the work down to a reasonable amount. When I wake up in the morning to 3 pages of new posts, it already takes a significant amount of my time to check them all. If there weren't any other mods, that work would increase far beyond what one person can reasonably be asked to do. Hell, at least your admin posts to you. That doesn't happen on a lot of places that I've been at. I dunno about you, but Dark0ne is, from my experience, a pretty good administrator. I can't vouch on my own qualities as a moderator, but I do know this. Speaking out against Dark0ne will NOT get you banned. Declaring that he's going to be a nazi and come and ban you probably WILL get you banned. It generally pisses moderators off when people declare what we're going to do beforehand, especially to prove a point. It tempts us to humour you. By the way, Daerk is right. It wasn't even about us. I'm not sure where it exactly went astray... but it did, and things turned ugly. It was pretty dumb, IMHO. Really, this thread had lost all value.
