envelope91
Purely out of curiosity, am i'm the only one who kinda likes the original green tint in the game? I just get the impression that most people dislike it and uses mods to remove it, am i the only one who enjoys it? Why can't i be like everyone else =(
7thsealord
Like most people, you mod your game to suit yourself. I'm not fussed about the green either way. You like the green, by all means keep it (keep the Lore Nazis happy, if nothing else ;) ). Edited July 2, 2011 by 7thsealord
BlackRampage
Ah, but if everybody liked the same, the world would become a dull place... Anyway, like most, I do indeed use mods to get rid of the green tint. However, unlike some, I decided to remove it because it seemed rather illogical to still have a greenish tint 200 years after the place was nuked. Logics aside: The green tint never bothered me a bit.
envelope91
Thanks guys, i was simply curious what you guys thought. I don't know much about real life radiation, but i belive it will take more then 200 years for the radiation to clear from the skies, but thats just a hunch. I've seen enough pictures from Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Chernobyl, etc... but never saw no green tint. Oh, well. Like 7thsealord said, I guess it's just a matter of taste. 7thsealord
I have a great deal of respect for just how well nature can bounce back from what we dish out to it. Chernobyl may be too radioactive for safe human habitation, but nature is well on the way to reclaiming the area. Which is one reason I play FO3 with mods adding trees and so forth. Two hundred years? Sure, plenty of radioactivity still around (though much less than just after The War), but plenty of life as well. Green tint or no green tint? IMO, too minor a detail to get worked up about, though others might.
envelope91
Well its nice to hear other people opinions about it nevertheless Anyway, it just matters a lot to me, i really do not like the looks of a "clear" and "pure" wasteland, for me, it should be contaminated, dirty, and grotesque! Jeoshua
"Lore Nazis", if they're really about Fallout Lore in general, and not just F3 Lore, actually dislike the cloud cover. The previous games were based on a more desert-like environment, ala Mad Max, where the sun baked in the sky. Fallout 3's green clouds, while thematic and very grungy looking, are not supported in any way my Lore or Logic. Sorry I just felt the need to say that. Keep the sky as-is if you like it. But the reasons for removing it aren't because people don't like the Lore of the games.
