KenshinX12
I've been wondering who all has figured out how the new vegas faction system works? I've figured out most of it and how intertwines and works. I've been working on a faction a lot recently, I've gotten most of the underling done and almost have them to where they react with faction armors(the hardest part, atm atleast). Its taken a good 2 days, but so far its been well worth it. Its a awkward way to go about doing a faction system, having a quest and a scrip control it all, but then again this is Bethesda.(Only good thing I see outta the way they did it, is it updates in intervals, less updates = less lag). Exodus1111
Good point. I was wondering, killing opposing faction increases faction benefit with a faction ? Doesnt seem to work very well as Ive been Villified by both NCR and Caesar. -Exo
KenshinX12
I was thinking about that myself, haha, I haven't looked into increase faction and all of that, I've just been slowly creating one. It gets kinda confusing how the "Armor" factions, for disguises and all that works, think I finally might of gotten it. I still don't get what the point if "Armor-FactionName-FactionEnemy" is, at first I thought it was related to which ones were you enemy, while you werein the faction armor, but it only gives it to a certain few people in NCR, so that aint it... KenshinX12
Yea, I don't get it, I've done everything vanilla does and my faction isn't attacking armor disguises that are against them. Its quite weird, has anyone EVER tried making a faction from scratch? I used NCR as a base, then edited things that made it a entirely different faction. Edit: I've fixed it, I feel so epic right now, haha. Edited July 2, 2011 by KenshinX12
KenshinX12
If anyone wants help with factions, I can explain a few things, from what I've experienced in creating mine, today will be the last day I'm on for awhile, due to I'm going back to my house, where I have no internet. ita
Can anyone explain the origin of DontTazeMeBro? LOL Probably a reference to some guy that got zapped with a Taser a couple of years ago.
KenshinX12
Yea that is the answer. I just didn't say anything..cause it was kinda a random question. Edited July 3, 2011 by KenshinX12
rausheim
If I understood the question right, ur wondering how the "get bad relations with a faction works"? Say you have faction A and faction B. These two are set to be enemies. You also have Reputation entries, one for A and one for B. When you kill someone from A, your reputation with them goes down and the B increases. gabriel77dan
Got a question about the reputation system, a simple one, so I wanted to add a couple of Khans here and there and give them lots of drugs considering they're drug runners and to also give the player an incentive to kill them and a drawback for doing so.The incentive being drugs, 7+ from every Khan Drug Runner, including Turbo, Rebound and Hydra (Though in lesser quantities). And the drawback being to lose reputation and miss out on around 4 quests from the Khans if doing so. I looked through the NPC list and found VRRCKhans(??) and copied 6 of those and edited in my own ID's and changed their inventory so it wouldn't mess up with the rest of the game. (Like giving every single Khan +7 drugs..) However, I started up the mod and killed two of them but noticed no "Reputation lost", so I went into the stats screen and saw I only had reputations for Powder Gangers and Goodsprings. (New character.) So my question is: How do I make the player lose Khan reputation when killing one of these? And how do I add custom created NPC's to certain factions, making them non-hostile if Neutral and above and hostile if Vilified or Hated or Neutral if wearing that factions armor?
