Holds mod compatibility issue

I'm currently trying to figure out which of these mods is incompatible with the new Holds cities mod. My skyrim crashes on startup and would really love to try this new mod. Any help is appreciated thanks guys!

 

I also understand expanded towns and cities needs to be uninstalled but I did that and it still didn't work so it must be another mod also.

What i know for my rig is that Inconsequential NPCs causes ctd's. I guess it's mainly because the additional NPC's were placed outside the city's cells, and Holds modifies it so that all cities have interiors.
Best City to test is Falkreath, since it gets a major makeover.

For your rig, try disabling your HD Textures mod, because those mods improve on the vanilla assets, and well, the vanilla assets have been mostly replaced.
Also try testing the Lighting mods, that modify interiors and exteriors, since Holds pretty much mixes both up.

Basically, beware of mods that have NPC spawns in open cities, anything that replaces assets within the city(some additional assets work: Notice Board - works)

Oh and test the SMIM, it's like HD mods, improves, adds, or replaces vanilla assets.

To save you some time, I will list some from the list here for you. I suggest going over it yourself though to be more thorough.

 

ELFX and RLO are not compatible with each other. You have to pick one over the other.

Sewers of Skyrim 4 is not compatible with Holds The City Overhaul.

 

Skyrim Immersive Creatures is unconfirmed to be compatible or not with Holds.

 

ELFX is unconfirmed to be compatible or not with Holds.

 

Interesting NPC's and Skyrim Flora Overhaul need a compatibility patch to function with Holds.

 

Also, be sure to run LOOT.

I don't know if your problem was ever fixed but it's the northern Cardinal or Pirates of Skyrim, NC and HOS both add in a lot of conflicting resources. So you will have to choose between one or the other unless one of the mod makers makes a compatibility patch for the other one.

I don't know if you've found a solution yet, but if not it might be the Civil War Overhaul and the Alternate Start mod. Since the Civil War mod starts at the Helge, alternate start conflicts with it. Skip to 37 seconds for the answer
