Get the Archmage's Robe in the Ald' Ruhn mages guild...it fortifies your mana 5x your intelligence...it has 25 pts levitate and something other good enchantments(CONSTANT EFFECT!!!)Whenever i run out of mana one time, first i unequipped it, and then i equipped it again. It is like a mana recharger, only better.(recommend lots of intelligence

It's in a room with a locked door, shouldn't be too hard. I used "The Towers" "Tower Key"'

+ there is a number of enchanted amulets lying on top of the box in that room.

I believe mages CAN get alot better than warriors...they can for example have a greater fireball (100-500 dmg) (very expensive to make!!)

This is a possibility, but I'm sure the mages out there someday will be the most powerful mages in the woyrld,...I don't know of ANY very powerful PCmages.......

I think playing as a mage is not much fun unless you have:

a. A large pool of magicka.

b. A way to regenerate magicka quickly.

You can get a large pool of magicka by playing a High Elf with the Atronach birth sign. There is no way to regenerate magicka quickly unless you like chugging lots of potions or create a ridiculously long lasting potion. If you are going to do that, you might as well use a mod that increases your mana pool and gives you the regenerate magica ability. Some people consider that cheating, but who really cares as long as your character is fun to play, and a mage with low magicka and no way to regenerate it is not that much fun.

The easiest mod is to simply create a new birth sign. For example:

- The Archmage

- Restore Magicka 5 points per second

- Fortify Magicka 5x Int

- Drain Long Blade, Drain Short Blade, Drain Axe, etc. (i.e. all your weapon skills are zero for the entire game so you have to use magic).

- Drain Heavy Armor, Drain Medium Armor, Drain Light Armor (no armor allowed either).

An alternative to the restore magicka constant effect is to add the Absorb Magicka effect to the game in a spell. I am not sure whether this is possible because there must be an Absorb Magicka effect in the library and I do not know for sure that there is. If you could add the spell then you could have quite tactical mage battles where the mage has to switch to absorb magicka every so often to regain magicka mid fight.

With the right balance of magicka pool and magicka regeneration, playing a mage could be a lot more fun than swinging a weapon because - lets face it - weapon combat in Morrowind is not all that exciting.

I disagree with Limorkil mages are fun to play if you like a challenge Its boring to start off with tons of life and strength get a big ax and run around hitting evreything you see

Thanks for reading the first 10 words of my post.

Had you got to the last paragraph of my post you would have found that we actually agree on the big axe thing.

By all means disagree, but do me the favor of reading my comments first.

If your going to add a birthsign with 5x Magicka and regen why not just give your self a starting spell with 100% success that will do 3000 dmg in 500ft. The entire point of being a mage is using strategey instead of brute force, and ALOT of that strategy revolves around conserving your magicka and using it wisley. Being able to cast non stop is the same as a orc with 150 str and a daedric axe.

I keep saying that the unbalance between fighters and magicians is the enchanted weapons (and other items), just because to a fighter it's possible to have magic without magicka. A real mage is doomed because he won't be able to deal with weapons at the begining as good as fighters do.

But beeing a mage is a very interesting challenge, let me assure you that!
