UgTheViking
Ok, what is up with this one? I shut the game off last night and everything was fine. Today, whether I continue a game, load an old one or start a new one, I get the loading screen right up to where the game should start and then I get a 'Fallout 4 has stopped working' message. I don't understand. There were no updates of any type on my computer (windows 7) My AMD drivers are updated, I checked verify game integrity on steam, I googled for an answer but only found a couple things in greek (to me) and that are 6 months old. Any clue on this one would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Rabbit1251
I've been getting weird stuff like this of late, also. Sometimes I can correct it by going to Steam and starting the game through it's Launcher instead of my desktop. The Rabbit
UgTheViking
Hey, thanks for the reply, rabbit. I tried launching it there, tried through AMD control panel, tried through the FO4 exe in the files.....still the same. I tried restoring computer to an earlier point, still no luck. Well, one change, I no longer get the message pop-up but it still crashes in the same spot. I can sit there and watch the intros all day and it runs fine, just wont load or start a game. And again it just puzzles me how that could even happen. The game was running fine. I changed absolutely nothing and a few hours later....*blam*....total atomic annihilation. Where's Mr. Handy when you need him.

One day it will be running as smooth as a Swiss watch and then the next day, without reason or changes, I have to use the Task Manager to close it down. Sometimes it will start with the Steam Launcher and sometimes I will have to run it through the Nexus Mod Manager. Frequently it takes several tries with either before it starts. I really don't know whether it's something that I'm doing or whether it just suddenly decides to behave itself all on it's own. I do have the issues, but eventually I can get it to run. Maybe someone can chime in with a more definitive answer. Best of luck, The Rabbit

But this is an issue that has cropped up recently using the same mods. And it seems to be an issue when starting the game, not running it. Any ideas? Rabbit1251
Did you try simply rebooting your PC?As a last resort and in desperation I do and that frequently works. That leads me to believe that it may be a computer problem or Operating System error, at least in my case. The Rabbit
