Ghoulz
Dumb question. How do I use Wood Elf ears when they're not in the mesh folder...?
DeadMansFist849
You may want to extract them from the BSA called "Oblivion -Meshes.bsa" :)
Ghoulz
You don't need the custom race script to change skin/face textures do you? And also about eye meshes. They're not any different from ears or you need to use those special scripts from that to change them? Since they're a different eye mesh wouldn't that mean they use different eye textures? So I could swap the eye mesh for a race so they can use those textures without getting warped eyes that they get with their normal eyes?
Naktis
You don't need any scripts to change textures or meshes of the race. Also both eyes use the same texture.
Ghoulz
You don't need any scripts to change textures or meshes of the race. Also both eyes use the same texture. It doesn't matter what eye mesh it is? Then what dictates the texture layout for eyes? I would give L2 Elves the Abyss Demon's eye mesh and they'll still get googly eyes with Abyss Demon eye textures? Well I bit off more than I can chew. What's the difference between a .dds and a _n.dds? Like footfemale.dds and footfemale_n.dds? Ha im so confused right now. NIFs and _.dds's and .dds's..... I have no idea what im doing. Textures galore. The most frustrating part is that you can't read the full pathname in the body/face data. It gets cut off RIGHT before foot/handfem so I don't know if it was _.dds or .dds that was used. Edited July 7, 2011 by Ghoulz
wetblanket
_n.dds is a 'normal map'. Basically it makes a mesh look more detailed than it really is without the load a more detailed mesh would impose on your computer. You only have to assign *.dds in dialogs, Oblivion will find the matching normal map on it's own (hence the matching names - footfemale.dds and footfemale_n.dds). I have to replace the .NIFs from the body data and all the .dds's on the face data right? Ok, I done just that and it seems that's the way to go.
