Manned Mini Gun Station

I love the mini gun on the side of a veritbird, clearing out the bigger enemies before hitting the ground and I thought it would be awesome if I could have settlers manning minigun stations back at my settlements.

I like the idea of having HMG's on the tops of my castle walls, some manned by settlers and some free ones which I can man when attacked.

I have no idea when it comes to modding so was wondering if someone could give it a try??

Cheers

I've been hoping to replace the settlement turrets with manned mounted guns for a long time!

I was thinking that maybe they could work like the standard guard stations (needing a settler dedicated to them), but provide their points based on the weapon installed. I'd like to see more than just miniguns too. And obviously, settlers shouldn't be able to remove the weapons and ammo from the emplacement, or it would be too annoying to have to track them down.

Awesome seeking, I'll keep my eyes peeled for it.

Glad to see I'm not the only one with this request, just think it would be so cool to have these encampments on the walls of the castle or even building your own machine gun tower to guard the bridge to sanctuary.

I'm surprised nobody has figured out a way to do this one yet (I mean the original request of a mini-gun with NPC as a defense). The animation exists from the vertibird and the minigun asset already exists. That being said, I've never created a mod so there might be something I'm missing there. But I was under the impression that those were the two most time-consuming elements needed for a mod like that.

They do exist, came out about a year ago. They aren't perfect, but the visual is fine. https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/31629
