ss1077
Hey guys, first mod request here! The idea that I had is NG+. I've been playing Skyrim again for the past couple weeks, and I'm closing in on maxing my character. This is pretty much the way it always happens for me. I start a new game and work on leveling up my skills while I do quests. When I finally get to the desired levels that I wanted, the game is basically over. I think that by starting over completely, but with the same levels and gear and such, it could become a fresh new experience and would be extremely fun. I'm thinking this could be done by running a scrip that resets/deletes various quests/quest stages from the journal, resets NPCs and dungeons, and sets the player at the cell with the wagon. Simple in theory, but it would be a lot of work. I don't have the time or expertise to make it a reality either. Thoughts?
AraFox
Thoughts... I don't think I've ever actually "finished" Skyrim. I've gotten to the end of a lot of the questlines, but it seems like there's always a lot more to do. Could be that I just keep adding mods and extending the game, lol. Personally I don't think I'd use this type of mod because I don't view Skyrim as a "done" kind of game. Skyrim also has very definable limits and I'm not sure if this kind of thing would stress those or not. It's an interesting concept.
iXenite
Interesting concept, but the horse pretty much stops once you try and send a script back to the wagon ride. That section is infamously hard to play with in regards to mods. It's easily one of the more heavily scripted instances in the Vanilla game, and even mods adding things to the world space while that sequence is running can break that intro. Immersive Armors is a good example of a mod that breaks the Vanilla intro. Or at least it did. They may have fixed that, I'm not sure. With that said, I do agree with AraFox. I never really view any of Bethesda games as "over" or "complete". I just keep going and going with them. With that said, I do agree with you as well. A NG+ would be an interesting feature, but in the end, I feel that it wouldn't possible with this game. Plus, from a Role Playing perspective it wouldn't work either. A lot of people, myself included, Role Play this game - and a NG+ is kinda hard to justify. Just saying.
DavidJCobb
Probably be easier to create a save editor with an option to wipe everything but your character. That would be the "use with caution" sledgehammer approach, but it's basically the only way to get a perfect reset. (Pretty sure the Helgen intro takes your gear from you, so you won't be keeping that. Default gear is Iron Armor; the tattered rags are added via script.) This is a cool idea. I wish I had the time to build it myself.
