Heartcloud
I was wondering if deadly reflex only works while in first person camera mode? Or does it work for third person as well? I only use third person unless it gets extremely laggy, so I was wondering if I should install deadly reflex. I watched some videos and they were all in first person mode, so I don't know if it adds any extra animations or anything. The only changes I noticed were harder AI, the kick, and the slow-motion one-hit kills with the added blood splatter, which looks interesting. I got over 100 mods installed, so I'm worried DR might have conflicts with a lot of them, since I remember reading that a lot of people were having trouble with DR. Thanks. wizardmirth
It works in both. I think DR6 shows you what you'd see in third person from first person, except for the legs and kicking. The camera and things like holding torches wobbles as you move to make it more realistic. But you need a seperate mod for the legs. See the readme. Also if the Combat Moves esp goes last in your order as the author recommends you should have minimal to no conflicts. The only weird thing for me is that NPCs sometimes have the splattered blood on them for a few seconds when the cell first loads with them in it, even if they weren't even in combat. Heartcloud
Ah that's good if it works for 3rd person camera. I already had to reinstall Oblivion once because of a mod, really don't want to go through that again. Hopefully DR6 won't completely obliterate the game. >.<Does anyone know of other combat-related mods that adds/changes combat animations, and adds perhaps more "violence" to the combat (bloodstains, realistic sounds)? Vanilla oblivion combat is really bland, I mean it makes a metal clinging sound when you hit someone wearing no armor, which makes no sense at all, and there's only like one animation for each attack. Not really into combat mechanics, more of an eye-candy person myself. Edited July 6, 2011 by Heartcloud
Heartcloud
I installed DR6 and found this bug:When you're in combat, and you try to get someone to yield by clicking block + activate (E key by default), with this mod active the enemy will yield however your mouse clicks will be rendered useless during the selection menu. The game still thinks you're in combat so the mouse clicks register as attacks, instead of menu selections. Then you have to use the keyboard arrow keys to make your selections. Is anyone else getting this? Also I don't get how the critical "instant kills" work... I stun enemies repeatedly with the "Bash" move, then go in for a power strike, but I never get a critical? How do you know which perks you have learned already? Heartcloud
Wow wtf...I disabled DR6 and all related .esps in OBMM, and now my Oblivion is once again messed up. Character textures are completely changed (my blood elf is somehow wearing old rags and can't take them off, wtf), old save files are corrupted and won't load (crashes game when I try to load it), and text are missing in menus.Guess I gotta reinstall all the mods... Damn this, staying far away from any overhauls from now on.
wizardmirth
I believe that this version is still in beta. You can check/report bugs here: http://forums.bethsoft.com/index.php?/topic/1142288-deadly-reflex-6-beta-the-official-bug-report-thread/ If your problem isn't already listed by anyone then you can add your own. Plus you can always revert back to DR5 which doesn't have all the same features but should be much more stable. Version 6 is much cooler but needs special attention at the moment in order to keep conflicts to a minimum. Unfortunately this requires careful reading/following of the readme and then if something is still wrong going to the bugs page to look up your problem and see if it's listed.
