maboru
I'd been playing for hours today with no problems (except that annoying pause when moving between cells that's been with me since the last "patch"!). After taking a news break and finding that the new "patch" had been released I put Steam back online and let it download it. Then I D/Led and installed the new NVSE, checked that all my drivers were still up to date, moved FalloutNV.esm back to the top of the heap, checked FNVEdit, recycled Archive Invalidation again and fnv4gbed back into the game as usual. Game loaded fine, hit the tilde key and got the usual message - "Found NVSE and useing it" (wish they'd lose that superfluous 'e') and ran around the block a few times with no problem. Then I opened a container and "FalloutNV has stopped working" - Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: FalloutNV.exe Application Version: 1.4.0.525 Application Timestamp: 4e0d50ed Fault Module Name: nvse_1_1.dll Fault Module Version: 0.2.0.6 Fault Module Timestamp: 4e14cdc7 Exception Code: c0000005 Exception Offset: 0003eb8b OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.48 Locale ID: 1033 Additional Information 1: 0a9e Additional Information 2: 0a9e372d3b4ad19135b953a78882e789 Additional Information 3: 0a9e Additional Information 4: 0a9e372d3b4ad19135b953a78882e789 As you can see the new NVSE crashed the game so I re-installed the last NVSE, started FNV again (got the 'old' NVSE warning) and tried again. Now there's no problem opening containers, no crash, but since I use Readius there's no pip boy thus no playing the game now. Would this be a case of just waiting for them to fix the new NVSE or could the problem be on my end somehow? Anyone else having this problem? Thanks. Vortall
I'm having the same issue when Looting a dead body. I tried to start the game, the NSVE said it was out of date, I installed the new version then wham.. got this fatal crash. Guess I'll be playing the 360 version while waiting for a fix. I also tried starting the game with 0 mods.. same problem.
maboru
Right, bodies (companions or corpses) are just another type of container in the game. However the good folks at Silverlock have already released another NVSE (2.7) - ( http://nvse.silverlock.org/ ) and that seems to have corrected the problem. Kudos to them. (If I'd have just waited another hour....)
