  1. Got an install error with F4MM but it starts the game. Unfortunately Bash doesn't see it. May have to manually install more mods than I like because of all the tracking paperwork. Oh well, back to STEP... Nope, good ol' FOMM is no more. Pity... Probably not a Win10 issue though.
  2. Starting to Mod up FO4 and already have a conundrum - does FOMM still work since it was taken dormant? I've always used it and Wrye Bash together because I like to know what's going on. That's why I've never used NMM or MO. Guess I'll find out shortly!
  3. Thanks for all the good intel. As soon as I reduce my mod downloads to a reasonable amount I'll build FO4 first and report any inconsistencies I may find. Whatever you hold in contempt is your jailer - Brendan Behan
  4. Ah yes, the wonderful world of navmesh. Perhaps when Beth gets around to FO3 Remastered (in 64 bit) they'll remaster the Geck as well....
  5. Understand. Too bad. Your Island Home adaptation got me digging out one of my old ideas but I'm too much of a perfectionist to even finish anything because I always get too ambitious and end up in over my head! Maybe with a little more study...
  6. Thanks Jim, that's really good intel and will save me time. So no more 4gb! Still, since I'm going to run my Steam version and my Gog version with identical (as possible) mods for comparison/troubleshooting purposes I'll factor that in. As well as pass the word in the respective comments section on Nexus. BTW- Are you still modding? I've got a bunch of yours D/Led already.
  7. Thanks but I never install anything but Windows programs and utilities on my C: drive, always have a dedicated SSD or in the old days a Velociraptor for my games. What I'm curious about is Win 10, I remember that a lot of people had trouble with Beth open world games with Win 7 at first, although I never did. I'm not inclined to use emulation mode but am curious if any one here has run into any problems and if so how did they work around them? I used NTCore on Oblivion and FO3 to avoid the loader hassles without any issues before although it didn't work with FNV because Steam always D/Led the original .exe. Any intel?
  8. I recently got my new rig up and running but unfortunately was forced to get Win 10 instead of Win 7. I'm currently downloading mods for all my Beth games and see that many people are experiencing problems with Win 10. I tried to install FO3 from my old copy of GOTY and it just wouldn't do it so I went ahead and added it to my Steam games as well bought as the DRM-less versions of FO3 and FNV from Gog. The new versions at least install and boot up. Before I go through all the pain of configuring the mods for the games I'd appreciate any advice on how to make this as painless as possible. i.e.- should I go ahead with running Win 10 as is or force Wiin 7 emulation mode? I plan on running both Steam and Gog versions simultaneously for comparison/troubleshooting purposes as I believe the NTCore LAA will work with Gog. I know I'm not the first person to face this so any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.
  9. In response to post #16883169. #16883319, #16883494, #16884134 are all replies on the same post. Sorry your TGIF seems to have morphed into FMIF (not to put too fine a point upon it!) Hopefully the members here have taken this opportunity to investigate the many other "Files" categories beyond "New Today". I know I've managed to stumble across a few promising ones that had previously flown under my radar.
  10. In response to post #16823419. #16883624 is also a reply to the same post. For me the Premium server option is there (D.C., Dallas or Kent). Since you just signed up for premium maybe you have to go to your "Edit preferences/Favourite download location" and change that from a normal server for the premium servers show up?
  11. I still haven't experienced any download problems this Summer, primarily due to Premium membership, never using any auto-download programs as well as having an extremely fast FIOS ISP. So I thank you for the great work there. However, it appears that any mods uploaded since about 0400 today (on Skyrim, FO3 or FONV at least) have failed to emerge from the auto-virus scanner, which I'm guessing is a third-party problem and I'm not blaming you for that. (For the record; I've always personally virus scanned everything I've ever downloaded from the internet and I've never had a hit from Nexus with the exception of a few mods that were falsely reported due to .dll's.) I do fell bad for your team having such a labor intensive Summer though! ( I suppose that it comes with the territory.)
  12. I've been reading about all the download problems for a week now but I haven't experienced any problems at all myself even though I've been D/Ling dozens of mods every day to catch up for my latest builds of FO3, FONV and Skyrim. I do this every year at this time and in the past, during Steam sales, I wasn't even able to access the site at all, so I'd say you guys are doing a great job there! Perhaps my lack of problems is due the Premium servers (in which case everyone should go Premium!) but I think that it has more to do with the fact that I only download manually by clicking the title of the mod on the Files page and then installing offline. I have a feeling that all the extra server work involved with all the automatic download-and-install- and-update mod managers isn't doing your servers any favors.
  13. When I try to D/L from any server other than Kent I get "No file exists for this ID." with "%2FError%2F%3Ferr%3Dfile_exist". Even when D/Ling from Kent my speed is only @20 - 50 Kb/s (yes, even slower than the old dial-up modems!) Whereas I normally get @ 3.5 - 4 Gb/s. This has been happening randomly for the last week or so. When I tried to post this on the bug forum I was unable to submit due to a server error. [And I have no idea why that smiley face showed up.]
  14. It's likely that your video driver got corrupted. Try a clean sweep and reinstall it (from a fresh download preferably.) If not then it could be your card, try removing, cleaning the contacts and re-seating it.
  15. Sorry, in all the years since FO3 was released I've never heard of this problem. The only way I can imagine that happening is if you remapped your keys. The only advice I can offer is to completely uninstall the game then reinstall it and see if happens again.
  16. Just rename the 5 downloaded zips by deleting the -12056 at the end. They will then appear like this with no appendages : FULL NMCs Texture Pack part1 FULL NMCs Texture Pack part2 FULL NMCs Texture Pack part3 FULL NMCs Texture Pack part4 FULL NMCs Texture Pack part5 Keeping them in the same folder then unzip part 1 and the rest will automatically follow. Do the same thing for any other multi-pack mods you may download.
  17. I only use my LED TV as my monitor and never had a problem. Make sure the TV is the only thing plugged into your video card and make sure that your settings reflect your TV's native resolution (probably 1920x1080 in the States.) Also make sure your GPU supports that resolution.
  18. Try adjusting the Gamma down a bit in your Nvidia Inspector or AMD Catalyst game profiles.
  19. It seems that many mods will need to be updated in order to work with the official Hi-Rez texture packs. Go to the mods' download pages and report the problems in the Comments section.
  20. You're welcome. Just remember to to take small steps first and save the ambitious stuff for later, Nexus is already full of grand unfinished mods resulting from modder burn-out! And don't hesitate to ask for help in the modders' forum, they know what it's like.
  21. I've never heard of this particular problem before but it sounds like it could be an audio codec conflict. Try reinstalling or updating you audio drivers. (Or save the game prior to attempting a lock pick and then keep reloading until you successfully pick the lock.)
  22. First you will need the G.E.C.K. - http://geck.bethsoft.com/index.php/Main_Page - as well as reading and viewing all the associated tutorials referenced there. I can point you you to a few other tutorial sources - http://fallout3.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=5506 - For the basics. http://fallout3.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=13788 - For textures. http://fallout3.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=5561 - For dialog. http://fallout3.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=12163 - For dialog and quests. http://fallout3.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=13644 - For clothing. http://fallout3.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=16121 - For weapon creation. http://fallout3.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=6107 - Advanced 3D modelling. There are of course many more available on the Nexus but you should also visit this forum - http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/forum/287-fallout-3-mod-talk/ - to peruse the topics and ask specific questions once you understand the basics. Have fun and good luck.
  23. Here's the link - http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=8236 - I'd also recommend this - http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=8043 - if you're having the shadow striping problem.
  24. According to your Options your game resolution is set at 1280x729 while your Desktop resolution is set to 1600x900. You don't say what type of monitor you are using but it's always best to run at your monitor's native resolution. Try to match up all three.
  25. This thread was about Fallout Mod Manager. Nexus Mod Manager is a different program, try posting here for problems with NMM - http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/tracker/project-3-mod-manager-open-beta/ - Idon't think many of us here are using NMM for Fallout since FOMM works so well and is more familiar to us. Edit: I may have misread your reply, if you're having a problem with FOMM describe it and we'll try to help.
