patrioticprogeny
I downloaded the mod manager today on Windows 10 (I know bad OS choice but my boss bought the PC). I have deleted every file associated with Fallout 4 that I can find on my PC and reinstalled. It still won't launch. I did back up my saves (small miracles). Do I need to delete anything else? What could I be missing that wouldn't allow a fresh install to work?
Rabbit1251
Try verifying your game cache through Steam. If a game fails to load, crashes as soon as it loads, or crashes when you reach a specific level, your game’s files may be corrupted. Corrupted files can also cause a multitude of other odd game bugs. To fix corrupted game files, you can have Steam validate the game’s cache on your system. Steam will examine the game’s files and – if any problems are detected – will re-download the corrupted files from Steam’s servers. To validate a game’s cache, right-click the game in your Steam library and select Properties. In the properties window, click the Local Files tab and click the Verify Integrity of Game Cache button. The Rabbit
Fatalmasterpiece
When you say you deleted every file, make sure you delete the entire Fallout 4 folder. Mods like interface mods leave behind loose files that "uninstalling" will not delete. They will still be read by a fresh installation. Also make sure to delete your Fallout4.ini, Fallout4prefs.ini and Fallout4custom.ini
