PioneerJones
I've recently installed this OMOD, but when I run Oblivion the Argonians' spikes and tails are a bright magenta color. When I deactivate the mod, the problem is fixed, but the spikes and tails disappear entirely. I'm not sure which textures I need to reactivate to get this fixed. I really like this mod and want to continue using it, but I'd really like to fix this issue with the Argonians. PioneerJones
Here's a list of the data files included in the OMOD, to give a better idea of what the problem might be: textures\clothes\asclaws\asclaws_black.dds textures\clothes\asclaws\asclaws_n.dds textures\clothes\asclaws\asclaws_red.dds textures\characters\khajiit\catwhisker.dds textures\characters\khajiit\catwhisker_n.dds textures\characters\khajiit\teethkhajiit.dds textures\characters\khajiit\teethkhajiit_n.dds textures\characters\argonian\teethargonian.dds textures\characters\argonian\teethargonian_n.dds meshes\characters\khajiit\khajiittail.nif meshes\characters\khajiit\KhajiitTeeth.egm meshes\characters\khajiit\KhajiitTeeth.nif meshes\characters\khajiit\KhajiitTeeth.tri meshes\characters\khajiit\TailFemale.nif meshes\characters\khajiit\whiskers.egm meshes\characters\khajiit\whiskers.nif meshes\characters\khajiit\whiskers.tri meshes\characters\argonian\tail.nif meshes\characters\argonian\tailfemale.nif meshes\characters\argonian\teethargonian.egm meshes\characters\argonian\teethargonian.nif meshes\characters\argonian\teethargonian.tri
Striker879
Do you have archive invalidation set in OBMM? If not use the default option for archive invalidation off the utilities menu.
PioneerJones
EDIT: okay, I fixed it. Turns out I was missing the .dds textures for male Argonian tails. I just downloaded a different mod and relocated the .dds files I needed to my Data folder. Edited July 8, 2011 by PioneerJones
Striker879
You want to accept the default option for archive invalidation. The other options can cause problems and are best used for very specific circumstances, if at all. If the mod only needs vanilla textures it won't include any in it's download. In the case of mesh or texture replacements Oblivion will use all default textures, meshes etc. unless it detects newer files or is directed to use newer files (in the case of archive invalidation). In the case of new resources that were never included with the vanilla game Oblivion will look in the specified folders for the new resources (but textures must be a subfolder off textures, meshes off meshes etc.). Here's an excerpt from the Construction Set Wiki Mod FAQs on Archive Invalidation:For OBMM users:Start OBMM.Click Utilities.Select Archive invalidation. You'll get a popup window.Click BSA redirection (it's the default choice).Click Update Now.Close the Archive invalidation popup (click the red X in the upper-left corner).Quit OBMM or click Launch Oblivion.
