tundrafawks
I was wondering if there was any way to get mods from the PC version of Oblivion to work on the 360 version. And fon't point me to the official one's on Xbox Live, I already have all of those. While my reason tells me to doubt its possibility, my desire to play modded Oblivion in its full glory without having to spend and extra $700 on a computer just to be able to play the game keeps me hoping it can be done with my limited resources. Povuholo
Nope. And if it would be, it would mean making illegal changes (modifications) to your xbox, which I think puts you on microsofts blacklist when you access Xbox Live and you won't be able to use it anymore. Heretic666
Personnally i think that it is a good thing that the user made mods are pc only (dont mean that in a nasty way, btw) because the elder scrolls series has always been (and if i had my way would always be) a pc owners privilage, take the recent port onto the ps3 for example I dont hate ps3 owners (being a future ps3 owner myself) i just hate the fact that u can go into a shop with a wad of cash, buy the thing and away u go!!!, u know it does'nt take the years of learning and the excruciating toll on ur wallet that owning a pc doe's, all u do is shove some money in a shopkeepers face go home, plug it in and u have access 2 one of the greatest games on the face of the earth without actually earning it. And i know this has gone slightly off topic but i think that developers should stop thinking about there paycheck and start thinking about there loyal pc gaming public, sorry but it just infuriates me >:( >:( >:(
Vagrant0
Don't worry, you will never be able to do anything remotly similar as far as modding goes for console versions of anything. The console version is essentially specialized to work with that console's specific hardware. Since most of the hard drive space, ram and processor are utilized to make the game run smoothly, any changes made to that game, or hardware can cause significant problems. This is why any such things void your warrenty, get you banned from official channels, and could probaby cause legal issues. PC modding will always be the only real form of modding out there. That aside, having a product that people can just throw money at, get bored with, then throw more money at it to get rid of the bordom is pretty much what all consoles are designed specifically for. It's throwaway entertainment at its finest. And since it's profitable for companies to make even halfassed imports of PC games for console, companies will continue to do it. tundrafawks
While I agree on some points, the earlier rant by Mr. Heretic was unwarranted, think of this: not all of us can afford a $1500+ computer that would be able to play these kinds of games. and a note on the infuriated-rant:the game developers need to look for the most profitable route to keep their games 1:in production, 2: to expand their market and maybe pull someone in to buy their game twice, and 3: to expand their crew to bring in not only fresh ideas from said new crew but to up the quality of their work and bring in more revenue by making their games better than their competitor's and more towards their consumers' liking. Also, not every console owner buys any game for the console, I for one will not buy halo, or just about any fps for that matter (Oblivion is NOT a fps regardless that it plays best when in fpm despite many things I've heard or been told to the contrary), I only own games that I really really want like Oblivion or Mass Effect, Oblivion's space age cousin(whenever it comes out :glare: ), and I was only wondering about this because I'd rather be able to mod my 360 for this rather than have to spend another 600-800 dollars to get a laptop that will be able to actually play Oblivion to my desired specs. Anyway, I thank you all for responding to my query and request that this matter be laid to rest.
Povuholo
not all of us can afford a $1500+ computer that would be able to play these kinds of games.$1500? Maybe if you want to play the game on the max settings... My 5 year old PC can run Oblivion just fine (mid-mid-low settings), and it couldn't have costed more than $1000 back then. You don't need the graphics settings on max to enjoy your game. Mods are definately worth sacrificing the graphics for.

tsolless
The only way to do it would be not to make a "mod" perse, but rather to hack the game saves. Pretty much only way. I did it on Disgaea. What did I make the main characters class again? Big Ass Pimp Daddy, I believe.
