Rooker75
well if enough folks said no to steam and didnt buy anything connected with it, they would soon change thier tune about using it That doesn't work when there is no real competition. There used to be Stardock, which morphed its distro system into Impulse, which they just sold to Gamestop. Gamestop has its own issues. There's Good Old Games, but those are mostly older discount bin and abandonware games, so not really relevant. There's Direct2Drive, which encrypts the game .exe or something, so it conflicts with mods. What's the point of having a PC game if you can't mod it? The only real competition is old brick and mortar and Bethesda refused to let that be an alternative. I bought my copy at Walmart and had Steam foisted on me regardless of having the DVD. It's frustrating. I don't like Steam either but at least it can be put into offline mode permanently once you get everything activated.
