HoroBoro
First time poster XD So I'm trying to edit a mod using the construction set. Just trying to change the "Topics" dialogs and such. I've done this with similar mods in the past successfully - no problems everything goes smoothly, game boots up without crashing, edited topic changes in game, conditions work, everything is 100%. Now, with this new mod...there are some problems... Mod runs fine in game. Opens up with the CS fine. Editing it the first time, everything is fine. When I save the mod, it saves fine. No errors, nothing. But when I try to edit it again, "Cannot find previous info for topic etc..." warnings, and the CS crashes. This happens even if I just open up the mod clean, make no changes, and save it. I think, somehow, the CS isn't saving everything (important base oblivion dialogs) which is causing crashes. Has anyone had this issue before? Thanks for any and all help.
fg109
I think the cause is probably a missing dependency. As in, when you first edited it, you had more than one mod open. The topic you edited came from the other mod. When you saved the mod you were working on, the other mod did not get saved as a master.
HoroBoro
Yep - that is indeed the issue... Now I need to figure out how to edit both at the same time... Edit: Nm - got it. For some reason, construction set stripped the master off of the previous mod. Adding it back via wyre bash (oh how I love wyre bash). Kudos to you :D Edited July 8, 2011 by HoroBoro

HoroBoro
Good read. I do have load order issues if I actually convert it into an ESM. I guess I should be esmifying it...probably would save time so I don't have to re-master it every time. But then I would have to convert it back into an un-esmify every time I play the game...but then I can actually save without having to go into wyre bash! Tomlong54210
Have you tried the CSExtender? It fixes a lot of problems. I don't know if it incorporates esmification of plugins. It might, but you can already do that quickly and painlessly with Wrye Bash or TES4Gecko. --Tomlong54210
fg109
If you don't want to use the CSExtender, a simpler way of doing what you want in Wrye Bash is to right click your mod and select "Add Master".
