Another crazy suggestion...

I've b!tched before about how if I wanted to play SIM City, I would have BOUGHT Sim City!

These settlers are a pain in the backside and only waste my time. I set up a nice place for them and even plant Food and they stand around starving to Death while the weeds grow.

The point is I don't have time to run around assigning People to menial tasks when I'm out hunting Deathclaws.

How about a Micro Manager mod that will grant settlers a random task according to the number of people in the settlement with Food tending the prioritized assignment. That way I don't have to go up to each NPC and ask "Have you got something to do?" , metaphorically speaking.

Then I can reassign someone if I have a special job for them, like Supply Train. Btw, this is important to be able to reassign them to the supply train otherwise we'll never get them connected.

Another HareBrained Idea from ZardozIX! You heard it here first, folks. Just jump on the band wagon....

Cheers,

I've seen that title but thought it was some kind of "You talking to ME!" type of mod.

After reading the description it seems like a very top heavy mod with quite a few caveats including:

"This MOD Requires Game Version not higher than 1.4.132"

It seems to be primarily for naming settlers and seems to have its share of problems.

I try to avoid complex mods but will try it to see what happens.

I'm an old system manager and the more code you write, the more problems you come across.

Thanks for the tip but my request stands.

I mean there must be a better, more dedicated mod for what I'm describing.

I used Don't call me settler in 1.4 quite a bit and never had any issues with it. From what I can tell the issue with the 1.5 beta isn't directly the modders folder, just a result of how beth changed things, I didn't have a chance to look myself what the problems are, so that's just hearsay.

I also get quite annoyed about the generalization of scripting mods = bad mods...yes there were a bunch of bad examples in skyrim days, but there were also a lot of modders that went long ways and spent hours over hours to make sure their scripts don't cause any issues. But anyway, it's your decision, what mods to use and what not to use, and I wouldn't want to take that away from you, just venting some steam...

As an altenative that's available right now you can try the Settlement Management Software ( http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/12032/? ), I'm not sure what it has to offer, I haven't followed it to much, but maybe it has what you want.
