Gaius Octavian
My new computer is on it's way to me as I type, and I've already got copies of Oblivion, Knights of the Nine & Shivering Isles in anticipation, ready to be installed as soon as my rig is here. I wanted to ask some of you more experienced players to suggest me high quality mods, by that I mean well made artistically, they don't unbalance the game, and they don't alter the gameplay. In other words, no "Now there's a big sword that does 387 a hit and makes you invisible sitting on the table when you start a new game!" I come from Morrowind, and there were way too many of those. I'm really excited to play this finally and there's nothing like a good mod to enhance an ES game. Thank you :)
Sypron
Its a good idea to get some good mods, and i'd be happy to suggest a few as you are a morrowind fan to. Having said that, I also think its not a good idea to dive in. Wait till you have played Oblivion (+ and betheda mods) for ATLEAST 20 hours before putting in new content and 40 hours before installing major game changing mods (like Frans oblivion overhaul). You need to learn the game before changing it.
Gaius Octavian
I see your point and I agree. What I was asking for (perhaps I should have been more specific) were game-enhancing mods. www.tweakguides.com offers some texture replacement packs that'd make the game look better, I've also been browsing and seen some cool mods like one that makes windows glow at night, and one that tweaks it so people reporting crimes cant yell beyond their actual yell distance...stuff like this is what I was talking about, I'm not in the market for new weapons and armor and stuff like that.
