Deleted2547005User
Is there a process in the Creation Kit that'll create new boundary borders to settlements that I've expanded their buildable area? Or is the process to make that border mesh more obtuse?
seekingthesun
The boundaries themselves are 3 dimensional object that have to be edited in a 3d modeling program, and saved as a nif, or imported into nifskope
Deleted2547005User
I know that, but they are spot on with the trigger boxes, almost like they had some sort of tool that created them. That does give me an idea though.
seekingthesun
You can do that with fo4 edit. You just center them on a spot and work outward from there
Deleted2547005User
I don't think you are understanding me correctly. I want to make new visible boundaries on my expanded settlements, not just expand the trigger boxes. Edited April 28, 2016 by Kuroitsune
JuJooGuppy
I understand what you are asking, unfortunately I have no experience with the CK at this point to be able to accurately answer that. Bethesda may very well have had an easy means of creating them, but not sure if we do or not. If you do discover a quick means of getting new nifs to quickly line up with the settlement dimension, whether thats just a conversion rate of the boundry units to nif units or some such, I would be curious to know what you did, it could save me (and others) a ton of time. So please do share anything you discover.
Ethreon
Hopefully GECK has a sort of model exporting that will ply on the terrain as you tell it and then export into a shape you can use. I can't see how other they made the shapes, since they're not really simple most times.
Deleted2547005User
It looks like you can do just that Ethreon, but I got Finals to study for so I'll look into it later. The other thing I was thinking of was somehow making the trigger boxes visible to the player so when they activate the workshop the boxes appear to completely negate the need for a nif to display the edge of the settlements. seekingthesun
you literally only have to make boxes, and delete sides, that's it
Deleted2547005User
Alright, tell me how to take those trigger boxes from the Creation Kit, export them somehow into a 3D model file, and I can take it from there.
