So how, if at all, will Bethesda.net affect the Nexus ?

Console-Players will be forced to use the bethesda-crap-site for mods. Everone else, who is lucky to not be stuck with the publishers crap, will use nexus.

Just took a look at bethesdas mod-page, and its horrible.

Sorry, but bethesda should keep to what they´re good for: making frameworks for games, filled with content from other people, who know what they are doing.

It looks like it is for console players mostly then put into a simple package , thats why I compared it to steam mod downloads. I like to use the nexus and don't feel I want to sign up on the Bethesda thing. A small part of me is wondering if they are going to try any shenanigans like before. Some people are thinking they will try to take more control over mods and the modding community and this being the first step. If they stick to it being an easy method for consoles I guess its fine.

I doubt it will affect Nexus user, but I wish their mods interface was more mouse friendly, with a grid instead of a list. While I understand it is probably done for console players I think they would find it easier to navigate as well.

I think Bethesda's site will be more popular for simple mods. By simple mods, I mean those that don't require compatibility patches, optional files, merge patches, and other things that are considered slightly more "advanced." There's also no apparent way to include a scripted installer like many of the best mods here basically need to have. For example Better Mod could probably never work on the new site because of the fact that single page has over 100 files (last time I checked). But small mods that you "download and forget" like the unofficial patch, can be downloaded from their site quite easily.

Well I was reading a post in a mod on Nexus, can't remember exactly which one, but the modder mentioned that he was informed by Bethesda that mods he created are not supposed to be uploaded to other sites. Only to Bethesda.net. Now he could have just been blowing smoke since he did upload one of his mods but said that he had other mods only on Bethesda. Maybe this is something that Bethesda is trying to push? But if this is actually true at all then that sort of sucks. Though I doubt that it would really impact the Nexus in the end because yes indeed that Bethesda site is really pathetic.

The way it has affected my game is that I am unable to use any Nexus mods at all. I have jumped through hoops all day trying to get them to work and non are working. Does anyone else have this problem?

May I suggest 2 things: (If you have not already tried these.)

First - BACKUP ALL CURRENT GAMES.

2nd - With NMM, in the MOD TAB.

... Disable all mods. Disable ---> DO NOT UNINSTALL <--- Just disable them.

... Then re-enable all of them.

3rd - Go into game and validate that you do not see any mods not loading warning.

... If you do not get the screen, continue into the game and SAVE.

... If you do, just repeat #2, as I state below, it did take me 3x's to get them to work.

Now you might find you have to do this a few of times, as I did. I think it was the "3rd time's a charm", for me.

Hope this helps... Jj ....

That doesn't sound true and I would certainly hope not. Still I hope this is not the first step to something more roguish. Its true also what another guy here about Bes.net wouldn't house more complex mods.
