Enable mods on patch 1.5 guide (without bethesda account)

Recommended Posts

1) Install the latest NMM (I'm currently using 0.61.20)

2) Install and enable mods on NMM

3) open user/appdata/local/fallout4/plugins.txt and put an asterisk (*) in front of each mods on the list.

4) Put:

Fallout4.esm

DLCRobot.esm

DLCworkshop01.esm

on top of the first mod on the list in plugins.txt (without asterisk), if you don't have the dlcs, exclude esm of the dlcs you don't have. If you do not do this step, your game will hang at startup.

5) Start game, do not touch "addon" or "mods" in the menu, just load game.

Note: Old mods that uses /interface and *.swf files cause instability in this patch, so does texture mods. Avoid them for now and wait for updates. Full dialog mod with its update works, nodotdotdot doesn't unfortunately.

edit: start game using default fallout launcher, NMM cause instability for me somehow, your results may vary.

eh idk i got a lot of mods, and the ingame 'mod' selection has all my mods permanently 'loading' (And idk why)

Nothing I do (except the first time I ran the game today, which is odd cuz the last 'update' was yesterday) lets me use mods.

Wish they hadn't muddled with it and just left it as it was. Wasn't broken.
