RhinoL3
Im new to this Forum & perhaps this idea may be just to big for a mod, and only worked with the actual game at point of programing. As players like me & you progress through the game, we level up & gain access to skills, equipment & eventually become more proficient with that equipment and abilities. Im sure there are those reading this & thinking " Way to go Captain Obvious ". Before you move on, Im sure this idea will be something you just might want to help me with. While there are different types of players in Fallout 4, Im sure all players will be interested in this, but far more by players who spend 3 hours a day trying to make their Settlements look & operate better..I love the intricacies in Fallout the newest Fallout game thanks to Building settlements & issuing tasks & orders to NPC's & now Robots alike; has even more to love & maybe even drown in. I build or segregate existing buildings to fit my settlement needs, & would like the ability to do this same action with my settlers and NPC type characters that reside in my settlements. Now before you think or say," what a jack ass he doesn't know how to issue tasks or directives to his settlers". Okay, for starters I do know how to issue orders etc. What I would like to do, is while in one of my settlements; take control of one of the settlers with in my communities while my own Character would be filling in for the settler I took. While the settler is off gallivanting like a 19 - 20 year old fleeing an Amish village. Once I have control of the settler, the settler would be given a few simple tasks or quests to complete. Not the same number my full character has, and only a basic map of the immediate area. The settler would not have to complete or even attempt the tasks, quests or missions if they didn't want to do so, & can ignore them out right. Instead they could go hunting exploring, or on a crime spree. As my character levels up, so would the settler I now control & I would be able to pick perks for the settler as he skips through the region like Dead Pool. Now, this alone would be nothing special & just a way of cluttering up the memory on your PC or console. The way this will work, is when you swap control of players, you will be given the ability to only carry a very small amount of things in your inventory ( like 5 items or 25lbs ). Your control of the NPC or settler can only last for 3 in game days or less if the settler gain's 3 levels. before you swap characters, you will be given a list of professions from the settlement the settler resides in. As the settler gains a level, there will be a reduced list or perks to choose from based on their profession. Of course there are basic perks to top up as well, plus potentially new perks suited for their new career. Now, one of your settlers has medical and health perks and can offer aid , sell medical supplies & maybe even travel between your settlements, ( like old day doctors ). I have many other ideas that are very complex while being ( in my opinion ) really good & would be happy as a clam to see my ideas appear in the game.
