I am returning to New Vegas after Fallout 4 playthorugh of 220 hours. I have never modded the game and wish ot but have been stopped at the mod manager stage by this error when I attempt to open nexus mod manager:Unable to get Write permissions for: C:\Games|Nexus mod manager\Fallout NV\Install Info. Have I botched something in determining where manager was installed? I play game through steam if that matters. Thanks for any help.

Have you checked that your account has "write" and "modify" permissions to that folder and it's contents? If not, I suggest you set those permissions on the "C:\Games" folder and then "Apply to" all subfolders and files.

BTW: You can ignore everything in that article about "Auditing". That applies to MS "local area" networked servers and accounts that get "group policies" from a logon server.

Thank you dubious I. I have 8 mods running now and have begun my first play through in many years. I am going to stray from my usual goody two shoes characters. Does the NVSE run through NMM? I did not use any mods that required it but wished to have project Nevada. Also, in your opinion, is project Brazil something I should do before returning to the wasteland?

Re: NVSE and NMM. See this post. While it is focused on FNV4GB, it does cover adding a "Custom Launch Command" which is what you would need for the NVSE Launcher. (I use FNV4GB myself.)

Re: Project Brazil. As it starts you off in Vault 18, I regard it (as it says in the description) as an "alternate start" mod. Thus it would seem to be appropriate for a "returning" player unless you want to start from Doc Mitchell's. As I am on my first play-thru I opted to defer it to another play-thru. The PB download page "installation instructions" screenshot shows PN installed, and I found an old comment (2011) that it comes with a PN-PB patch.
