Sorry, but most modders don't mod for the people, but for all other kinds of reasons. I personally don't give a damn about anyone who hasn't contributed anything. I contribute and publish mods to give a little bit back to those few modders that made my games so much better.

Also ie CBBE (just to pick one of the most popular mods) has 41k endorsements for 391k _unique_ downloads. So about 88-ish% of the people who downloaded it, didn't even bother enough about this community to be bothered to leave a single click. And that actually a quite high percentage of endorsements.

So in short, it fits the nexus even worse, than it fits Goodneighbour.

Wait until 'they' tell you that 'unofficial' mods are 'too dangerous' for your PC (and this is coming). Just yesterday Microsoft gave itself the search engine app MONOPOLY on its new browser (Edge) in Windows 10 using just this same EXCUSE. Yes, Microsoft had the affrontery to say "no Google search engine apps on Edge" cos you just can't trust Google.

 

Corporations have no conscience. They do whatever they can get away with (legal or not- look at Steam breaking consumer protection laws in most nations by trying to deny refunds).

 

Beth is owned by Zenimax, and Zenimax is seriously not nice. Mods are EXACTLY what you say, graymaven, but the propagandists are coming. Look at how Beth has already synthetically put mods vs achievements.

 

There are people here who seriously try to tell people that Beth could own your mods if they like (even when such mods contain ZERO Beth IP, and were just created for a Beth game). Truth is not an important part of corporate propaganda.

 

Nexus is a fantastic, one-of-a-kind resource on the Internet, and should be highly valued by every sane gamer. Let Beth ONLY handle the 'walled garden' of highly censored mod apps for the consoles. After all, console bods have no other choice or freedom. The PC, on the other hand, is about user freedom or it is about NOTHING. Nexus Forever!

I don't think the Nexus is for the people, not with the way the moderators power trip and ban people for petty reasons. People that happen to be productive modders.

There's a law firm in tampa (where i live) that uses the slogan "Of the people, For the people" I always thought it seems a bit communist.
