marharth
No one knows how China or pretty much everywhere besides the USA is. You can assume parts of Europe are screwed up, but a bit better then the USA. I remember a NPC who moved from Europe to the USA after the bombs fell. Odile
Well, and also atomic warfare tends to put a damper on things like..social trends. So the Fallout universe hit its version of the 50s and then stopped because everyone was dead or hiding out underground. What? That doesn't make any sense. The Fallout universe hit the 50s, then... continued being 1950s-styled for the next 110 years. The nuclear apocalypse didn't happen until 2070... It does make sense. I was pointing out that after the bombs fell, everything remained 50s-styled because that's essentially when society stopped...and so that's why the games have the 'retro' theme. :\

alexanderkahn2009
what about latin america? Africa wouldnt be effected..... Australia and the oceanic countries? India? The USSR? I really hope the next game has information on the rest of the world....like would it be that hard to add into the story that the NCR decided to send envoys out to Canada, accross the pacific and down into latin america (especially this as california shares a border with mexico....)? And i dont think Europe was wiped out by the resource wars, i think the alliance they had fell apart and they started smaller conventional wars....I dont think they were hit by many nukes as they werent involved with the war with China Edited July 18, 2011 by alexanderkahn2009
BGatot
The Fallout universe is based on what the future might be like according to 1950's vision of the future. You know, back then they were really gung-ho for the (then newly discovered) nuclear power. There were talks of nuclear powered cars, trains, etc. Somehow, our real world evolved quite differently from those 1950's vision of the future.
