Ok if you are getting a CTD right after launching the game, before you get to the main game menu where select what game save to run then check and make sure that the game video resolution matches your windows desktop resolution. If they do not match then the game will crash when it first starts up.

As far as crashing when you select a saved game or even starting a new game it can be many different issues. First if you are using any kind of UI mod. Remember if you turn off all of your pluggins it may not actually be turning off all UI related mods. So will need to go to the NMM mod screen and uninstall any UI mods from there. Also you will want to check your game cache in Steam to make sure the game files are ok. Then you will want to try to delete the ini files and run FO4 one time from either in steam or from the FO4.exe file itself which will recreate the ini files. After all of this then it's possible that you will need to uninstall all of your mods and re-install all them again. Not sure if any of this will help but it's things that need to be looked at to make sure none are causing your problems.

The game starts with the same resolution as my monitor.

iSize H=1080

iSize W=1920

Like I said, I don't have any mods installed. I uninstalled and downloaded the game all over again. No change to a ini file.. nothing. I know, it's sometime hard to explain what's going on. So here is a quick video of what's happening.

Well I disabled the overlay and I'm still boned.... CTD before the intro video still. I've uninstalled DefUI, I've disabled all mods and I've just tried starting through F4SE and the fallout4.exe and it always happens at the same moment just as the intro video begins, before the main menu. It's infuriating.

Well the issues with CTD because of a UI mod like def_ui will happen after you get to the main game menu and select a saved game or start a new game. That is when you will see the CTD related to any ui type mod..

You definitely checked and confirmed that the game video resolution is the same as your desktop video resolution right? Because the type of CTD you are seeing is quite common if the wrong game video resolution is set. But if your resolution is set correct then try rolling back your video drivers since you said that you just recently updated them and see if that is your issue?

FFS...... okay, I seem to have fixed the issue I had with my game not loading to the main screen, just CTD on startup by the intro video. I had checked my resolution, mucked around with load order, uninstalled and reinstalled various mods, shut down running apps, deleted some programs that I didn't utilise but were still on my system and generally twatted about with my game so damn much I was just sick of it and was going to uninstall the whole thing, mods and all and start again with a fresh game. Then, within steam I checked to see what I could do instead of just uninstalling the game and noticed "verify integrity of game cache", so I ran it. It found 3 errors, fixed them and my game started. It did the automatic check of my settings again so I must have had some kind of corrupt settings file but it now runs. Of course I've f***ed up a bunch of my mods by uninstalling and reinstalling them but I'll sort that out later. For now I don't have to reinstall the game! Win!

P.S. I don't know why I didn't think of this sooner.

........Okay, just to update. I reinstalled some mods that I saw were broken, a couple of texture mods and user interface mods, as going into the pipboy the menu was broken. I reinstalled "Def UI", "Better item sorting", "Better Mod Descriptions" and "A Realistically Weightless Colored Sorting Mod". This then broke the game again which is strange but there must be some kind of conflict so I ran the steam validator again, it found one error and fixed it. I deleted DefUI, redownloaded it from the Nexus, reinstalled it and the game now loads again but there are still some messed up mods. It may have been a corrupt download or perhaps it's a conflict I haven't yet found. :pinch:
