Insane-Def body textures?

So far, I have only seen body textures the size of 2048 x 2048, but has anyone tried using a body texture blown up to beyond that? For example, 4096 x 4096 or (this might overload it) 8192 x 8192. I just thought I would ask before I try it myself.

I would imagine doing so would probably be a bad idea, just because those textures would be a fairly large file size and may overwhelm some computers. Also, not sure if Oblivion (or most videocards) even support textures that large. It is however worth mentioning, most body textures only use a small portion of the texture for the actual body and it is mapped this way for a reason (can't remember what it is, but know it's a good one), so all that file size would really be going to waste. As for ingame, you probably wouldn't notice much difference even if you did manage to get them working.

PS3 used 8192 x 8192 but then again that thing is stronger then any average home PC.

Not stronger, just more specialized toward graphics. Even if your videocard could allow it, you would still have to hope that oblivion doesn't have some sort of limit.
