My opinion is it's a lack of context on Pete's behalf and the negativity of some others. People just jumped to the worst conclusion they could think of then ran around "Oh my god Pete Hines is going to shut down Nexus!"

Give it a month or two, there will be a browser made for public use by modders. Context was 95% of this issue raised last night and people just want to jump to the worst conclusion readily available. The problem is Pete Hines has to be ambigious with things or give a blanketed answer, It's his job afterall.

Thanks but it didn't help. I've decided to reinstall my game back to the 1.8 configuration as opposed to 1.9 since the stability was absolutely perfect. The mods I needed SKSE for are trivial and I can make due without them so I will just press on like I did a few weeks ago. Thank you for your help, even though it did not resolve my problem. :smile:

Well, I am on the administrator account. I can confirm that. But as to why it re-checks them as Read Only is beyond me. I never used to have problems like this.

I'll try that... I just have to figure out how.

C:\Program Files(x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\ This was where windows 8 put it when I installed it.

My game was fine until I updated to 1.9. For awhile I was using an install of 1.8 which worked absolutely flawlessly and now my game cant go five minute without a crash. When I checked the folders and Files under properties they are listed as "Read Only" and when I change this attribute and check back again a second later they have been reset back to "Read Only" and I'm wondering if this is the problem. If so how do I fix this? I am using Windows 8.

Only as long as my mods would work with it, Vanilla Oblivion is good but nothing compares to the customized stuff.
