Problem modding Battlehorn

Recommended Posts

I am trying to add some stuff to Battlehorn, and not having any luck. I can add items to Wawnet Inn with no problems, but when I use the same procedure for Battlehorn, no joy. I am sure I am making a simple mistake.

My procedure is to fire up CS, select file, data, select Oblivion.esm and the Battlehorn DLC, specify no active file, make my changes (ie drop a Goblin staff on the floor at the main entrance), save my mod to a unique name, go to OBMM and activate my mod, run the game and load a save with me at the castle. No changes.

I do use the unofficial patch, as well as Battlerhorn Castle Enhanced, but I have currently turned those off to avoid any complication.

Any thoughts?

You might need to create an esm. Use CSExtender to simplify the process. I once tried modifying a popular mod for that DLC that had an esm but had no success, maybe for that same reason. Why must there be an esm I cannot tell. I've only dabbled in that area.

This doesn't work because esp files are "isolated" in the CS -- they can use references from esm files, but not from other esp's. This problem, and the ways around it, are described in detail in the CS Wiki De-Isolation Tutorial.
