tempestas
I do not know if there is already a request posted about this topic. If there is one, please remove this topic (I searched for a similar one, but I could not find one). When I completed Dragon Age: Origins the first time, I was horribly disappointed. Not because of the story, but because of the fact that all my companions who joined me once just weren't available to play anymore, even Leliana, who was in love with my character, suddenly seemed to disavowe me. Okay, I understand that some quests that I did not complete yet disappeared in my journal, because they had to do with the Blight in any way, but then I was never again in the mood for touching that savegame again. Awakening did exactly the same. Right in the second of the last stroke with my sword against the mother and when she finally died, the game just quit. In addition, the Player can't travel in ferelden anymore... Maybe there is someone who shares may feeling about that. So all I ask... no... let me phrase it better:I just beg on my knees for someone to just unlock all the vanilla companions in Dragon Age: Origins after completing the main quest, so that they are still available and I can travel on with them and play some mods with them, along with Ferelden to travel in. Hoping that someone could do this, tempestas Edited July 15, 2011 by tempestas
Thandal
Dragon Age is not an "Open World" game. The programming of the game itself does not allow this. Once you've finished the "Main Quest" as you call it, that's it. In the case of Awakening, the death of the Mother is the End of the Game. There is nothing left to do, and the credits roll. For DA:O, completing any other quest does NOT end the game, or cause Companions to stop being members of your Party. But defeating the AD does. Once you've accomplished that, you can only finish any DLC adventures you have not already done. In that case, you will have access to all of your Companions except Morri, but only through the end of WK, and/or RtO, and/or TSP, (depending on which DLC you have installed, but not yet completed.) tempestas
So there really is no way to simply unlock those places like Denerim again? (along with the companions?)I have absolutely no experience in modding Dragon Age, but I thought that would be quite simple... Just like there were some code that tells the game to disable access to the companions and travelling... Anyway, thank you. skywarder
I don't really know 'bout DA:O, but in DA2 you could use the console command "runscript zz_dae_debug", and from there go through "World Map Debug -> Initialize Map -> Act 3." to unlock the map in a post-campaign savegame. I don't know if this woks in DA:O thought. You could try, but even if it works there could be places that are bugged (like The Gallows are after doin' this in DA2). billyro
DAO's map is way different to DA2's map, so maybe there is some extra evils that will prevent something like this from happening?
