Jakoporeeno
I'm playing with SkyRe and a few other combat difficulty mods where one arrow might instant-kill me and one thing that take the fun out of it is when I'm close enough to hit an enemy as he readies himself to fire an arrow and I have to hold the attack button to make a slower, stronger attack to stop him from killing me. This can, as you might imagine, be pretty frustrating. In my opinion any attack should stagger the NPC or the player whilst pulling the bowstring. This has been done in Deadly combat but I don't want to use that whole mod to have this one feature, I also don't think it's necessary for every attack to stagger the opponent all the time. If anyone agrees with me, let me know.Another idea I have: What if - instead of having a skill increase the second you open a skill book - you actually learn the skill when you've reached the last page? It makes so much more sense, right? Thanks in advance

Moldy
I know for a fact that in Perkus Maximus (The successor to SkyRe,by the same guy(s)),that if someone is drawing an arrow, and they eat an attack, they stagger. Even you. I say this from very recent firsthand experience. And I think it's a good feature. It gives melee builds a shot against archers, should they close the distance, and gives archer builds a VERY good motivation to pack a melee backup, and to position themselves cleverly. As for your second idea,I think its implementation would be extremely difficult; The engines checks books with Boolean logic; Has it been read? Yes or no? If yes, have your skill point. Otherwise, nothing. It'll likely take a complicated, scripted workaround to give you the skill point only when you reach the final page,or the page that has the solid advice on the use of that skill (Orsinium and the Orcs, for example, gives sound heavy armour advice about halfway through).
