No Archive Invalidation.bsa at all

Recommended Posts

Ok I am new to new vegas, I mean.. installed it for the first time on my system maybe about hour ago from this post. I am trying to install the TYPE3 Body mod as well as the Archive Invalidation... but I dont have the sarchiveinvalidation.bsa in my data folder, made a new game.. saved.. everything I have tried installing the AI mod but TYPE3 FOMOD still tells me I dont have it...

What am I missing? Please help as I got this to get away from the vanilla game, if I want that I have it for the 360. I still play oblivion and I love mods. So please, I know its something real simple and I am missing it.

I'll post up some screen shots of how to activate archive invalidation on FOMM.

Hit tools, like the pic, and at the bottom there should be archive invalidation, click it, and press Yes.

Okay, I really don't remember how I did it initially but this paste from ViralDust on the download page could help you (it definitely rings some bells) -

Okay guys, so I found a way to make it work for me. It may not work for you, but don't say its my fault, because my texture issues are gone now:

1)Use the file from the download exactly as it comes - do not rename it anything, the name should be:

ArchiveInvalidationInvalidated!

2)Change your SArchiveList to:

Fallout - Voices1.bsa, Fallout - Sound.bsa, Fallout - Misc.bsa, ArchiveInvalidationInvalidated!.bsa, Fallout - Textures.bsa, Fallout - Textures2.bsa, Fallout - Meshes.bsa

Note that the new archive that you're adding -does not- have "Fallout - " in front of it. I removed this from mine and everything sorted out. Do step 2 here three times: once in Fallout_default in your Data folder, and to Fallout and FalloutPrefs in My Games/FalloutNV.

Sorry for the wall, hope it helps, make sure you do it right. And for people unable to save their changes, make sure the file's not read-only in the Properties menu for it."

My .bsa is in my FO3 folder because that's how long ago I installed it and FOMM and after installing something like the above quote FOMM picked it up automatically (just like FNVEdit and NVSE once they were installed). However, if you dropped the bsa into your fallout new vegas folder and it's not there then just try doing it again.

Oh, wait a minute, did you drop it into the "Fallout New Vegas" folder up top or the SteamApps\common\fallout new vegas folder down the directory tree (where it needs to go!) The first time I looked at the FONV setup after installing, having been familiar with Morrowind, Oblivion and FO3 I was completely confused! Hope this helps.
