nella1952
Tried to install this mod but the installation directions need some directions. This is what it says on the installation page. This is a manual download only, does not use NMM. 1. download2. copy and paste the file into your Fallout New Vegas directory/data file3. Start up the Launcher and enable the mod in the data files The only problem with this that the file ends with a .7z extension and FalloutNV has no idea what that is, it does not see it. Tried changing the extension to .esp and .esm and it saw those and allowed me to enable it but it did not work. There is one step missing in the installation directions. The file name is - domino999-47399-v1-0.7z
McclaudEagle
You need a extractor program like WinRAR or 7-Zip in order to unpack the mod first. Currently, the .7z extension means the mod file is compressed, and won't be usable until you extract it. You can then place the .esp file into your Data folder and enable the mod. madmongo
Use 7-zip. WinRAR doesn't always extract .7z files correctly.
dubiousintent
Actually, you will often need both. 7zip also can't deal with proprietary compression formats of WinRAR. It depends upon what the archive author chose. And some of the same for ZIP archives. I found a need for an entire battery of archive tools. But 7zip is my "go to" as a first choice tool. -Dubious- Edited May 10, 2016 by dubiousintent
nella1952
Duh, i just discovered this computer did not have a zip program on it. I just downloaded Winzip and that will work for now. At least I got the file unzipped and installed. :)
madmongo
I was specifically referring to .7z files in my first post. A lot of zip programs can open files created by other zip programs, but they don't always work properly. If you want to open files reliably, use 7-zip for ,.7z files and use WinRAR for .rar files. Windows (at least since the days of XP) can handle .zip files natively.
