Game crashes when entering Sanctuary

What to do? Game crashes in 5 seconds after fast traveling to Sanctruary. Got 80 hours played on my savegame.

 

Have 100 mods installed but most are texture mods. Tried unplugging mods but did not help. :( :huh:

 

What i can do? So frustrating. :confused:

Have you enabled error logging in your Fallout.ini file? If not, open Fallout.ini with Notepad, Wordpad or some other simple text editor. Scroll down to find the following:

[Papyrus]
fPostLoadUpdateTimeMS=500.0
bEnableLogging=0
bEnableTrace=0
bLoadDebugInformation=0

 

This is the default setting, with the Papyrus logging turned off.
change the lines to:

bEnableLogging=1
bEnableTrace=1
bLoadDebugInformation=1

That turns on error logging, and save the .ini file.

Run the game and if it crashes, if it works like it does in Skyrim, you should find an error log in your Documents > My Games > Fallout4 folder.

If you can't figure out what's crashing the game on your own, you can try posting the log here and some of the more experienced troubleshooters/modders may be able to figure out what's causing the crashes.

PS: Once you get the issue figured out, go back in and reset all those =1's back to =0. If you don't, your log file will get GINORMOUS! Ask me how I know. Okay, I know because when I did that trying to figure out what was crashing my Skyrim game, I forgot to turn logging off. It wasn't long before I was getting memory full warnings on my 1.5 TB hard drive! *LOL*

Also, if you have it, you can run LOOT and try to adjust your load order, then run the game and see if the crash re-occurs. If it does, copy the Load Order from LOOT, or pull it from NMM and post it here. Fresh eyes might see something that is creating a conflict that you've missed.

Just by quickly skimming through it, it sounds like you're missing some assets the game is trying to load every time you enter Sanctuary, but it fails, most likely because you uninstalled something incorrectly. Do you get the notification when you load the game that your game relies on something that is no longer present?

 

Your problem could also stem the number of mods you have. If you place too many things in sanctuary (or anywhere) than can also cause CTD/

Oh i see. I dont get that notification about game relies on something that is no longer present. Only got it when i disabled plugins.

 

Hmm i dont think i have installed any mods that relate to birds.

 

Okay thanks i will try to uninstall or install some mods again.
