ddavies10693 Posted May 14, 2016 Share Posted May 14, 2016 So recently while playing this game, my laser musket (I've just started a new character) will spontaneously lose all the mods it has equipped. Possbily unrelated to this, a bunch of containers I had placed yesterday also disappeared as well, which deleted all the items within them. Are these symptoms of a version of the cell reset bug? jjb54 Posted May 14, 2016 Share Posted May 14, 2016 I found since the update of FO-4 and installing new / update mods, that they will all get turned OFF. I discover this when I go into the game and get the notice (more than not) that 'this' or 'that' mod is not loaded ... blah, blah, blah. Sure enough, ALL mods were unchecked / turned off. Sometimes I will NOT get the common notice and find it out by seeing 'this' or 'that' gone. Simply do NOT save the game, EXIT and click all mods back on. Are these symptoms of a version of the cell reset bug? from what Ive read the cell reset bug only affects " power armor and contents of containers " in that cell nothing elseyour laser musket should not be affected by it for the containers only what's stored in them should disappear and reset if it's the cell reset bug the container itself shouldn't disappear Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I used to have that problem and I lost loads of work but when NMM was updated a few weeks ago all the mods worked again and nearly everything I had lost returned.It was quite amazing because I was at the Red Rocket and suddenly realised that all the rubble had disappeared so I ran to Sanctuary and found that the Sanctuary Restored pre war mod hadcfibally worked and it was totally restored. Bit like Pleasantville. I still find certain mods and updates will turn OFF all the mods. It's not remotely as frequent as it was, but it still does happen. I just now am aware and know to watch for it. I do not know if it's NMM - FO-4 or what? I am honestly a little worried since Beth is trying to get what appears to be more control / exclusiveness of mods, if that is going to start some issues with NON-Beth approved mods (Nexus Mods) -vs- Beth's website mods. They have already made it the is indeed affected by mods and turns OFF perks / achievements [M] before the saved game title. . o O (Yes I am aware there is a mod for this and I am using it with great results!) I just hope when Far Harbor comes out there is NOT a patch that further creates mod issues.... I just have this sick feeling in my gut that Beth, is well ... going to try to even worse control of mods, what they did with Skyrim. For example I'd upgrade my power armor and laser musket, go off and explore for a while, and then randomly without warning, my laser musket would lose all mods attached to it upon switching to it, and reset to the default version of the gun you find at the beginning of the game, without ever turning off Fallout 4, thereby making the issue of .esps turning off irrelevant in this scenario. I don't have any mods that add or greatly alter... mods (to guns). The Power Armor would reset as everyone describes in the cell reset bug, so I got a quick mod that fixes that by giving a workaround. The only thing I can think of that deals directly with the mods attached to guns is AWKCR and Better mod descriptions. However, it's only the laser musket so far that this is happening to. No other gun I've modded thus far has any issues retaining upgrades. I can't find any forum or anything of anyone with this same issue, which worries me that it's some new bug from the newest update that most other people have not triggered yet. Do you have Beantown Interiors or Cartographer's Map Markers? I've determined that both cause the Laser Musket you find in front of the Museum of Freedom to lose it's mods IF YOU REENTER Concord. So, while not exactly the Cell Reset Bug, it is related. Console Command yourself a new one. Fixed it for me. I've reported this to the mod authors.
