Vertibird moveable parts and "wing mods"?

Basically all I'm trying to do is simply remodel the propeller engine to be the prydwn jet engines and everything looks like it will be fine, but in game it just shows the fuselage and the rotating wings without engines. So I thought it would have something to do with the wing OMOD files, so I remodeled the jet engine onto the wing only, but then it loses the attach point and it floats on the corner of the model on the CK preview.

I thought this would be a simple remodel but I've ended up making my vertibirds look like this instead.

The wings are actually a mod, like a weapon mod, put LWing in the filter and you will see it.
In fact they're complicated asF i'm still working to know how them fully works but it seems to me that to make the VBird look like they're being destroyed the Skin has damaged wings and the wingmod replaces the real wings to give the impresion that they're right but once you kill them they're removed to give the impresion that you damaged the wings of the Vbird... Because in their race ab you can read clearly in the destruction script that once the vbird dies he takes off all their bodypartdata and places an explosion for each one... so yea... amazing death xD.

so... try modifying the "VertibirdLwingMod" and "VertibirdRwingMod"

EDIT: sorry i thought that you just wanted to change the wings... sorry. The propellers are a mystery, seriously, in the VBird part data seems that the wings are the vbirds arms, but the propellers... i couldn't see a s#*! about them, so i gess that they're have a lot in common with it's main skin, that's all i can help about

Yes they are probably one of the most confusing things I've dealt with so far. At first I thought I didn't correctly connect the Prydwyn engine in 3ds max so I made sure they were, but nothing changed. It seems like the wings disappear and are only left with the frame when I apply the wing model to the actual OMOD though. I'm going to keep working on this and be in touch with you though because these remodels would be awesome with your mod.

did you tried instead of changing things of the model and reshaping just add to him simple things? i mean leave the wings and the propellers in it's position simply add to the body mesh a gatling and try to see how it works ingame, small change by small change maybe you would be able to achieve what you want.

Well, it seems like any edits whatsoever to the engines make both of them disappear in game entirely. I tried a different object, didn't work. Then I tried simple scaling the engine and no imported objects and they both still disappear in game. I can delete the actual blades but if any part of the actual engine gets deleted, it goes away. I'm not the best at 3ds so it's probably something I'm not doing, but I wouldn't know how to look for the answer.

Well if you're importing to 3DS max maybe it's properties that you're losing while importing/exporting to the nif.

Nifscope is were you can see the real implications each node and mesh have, try for example adding something via nifscope something without losing the other properties. Or instead using only 3dmax create a new model, and replace one skin just copying its branch in the vertibird original nif and giving it the same properties that had the original mesh. I dunno if i've explained myself

It's like patching each mesh

Maybe this helps:

I hadn't tried using nifskope yet, but I tried what he did in the tutorial and a few other things but they still disappear in game. Not sure what else to try at this point. The strangest part to me is that I can see the models in the CK preview and everything looks good, but never in game.

Well a VBird is quite a bit harder than a sword xD

The real problem is that you gotta have to point all the correct configurations into the new mesh so... yea... a lot of hard work

Good luck

PS: Far Harbor is ready to be downloaded :D

It seems like the "rwingmod" and lwingmod" might actually replace the true wing model so that it can rotate. It doesn't let me specify an actual attach point so it just gets placed randomly.

I've been working on this all day now and no luck, so I guess it's time for a break.
