faction questions. if i side with X can i not do quest Y and will compainion on faction Y die or hate me?

so i am at the part in main quest where i build the portal to the instatute. 1 does it mater where i build this ( can i use it after i have finished institute missions?) 2 if i build it somewhere does that mean i have to do that faction?

basically i know brotherhood are kinda bad guys. but it seems that if i side with anyone other than them i have to kill them. and they are buy far the bigist faction ( other than the institute maybe). (minute men have like 2/ 6 people [preston and sturges] and at a strech [mama Murphy and the Long family]. everyone else is just generic NPCs. the rail road has main chick, tinker tom, that mini gun chick, and theat 1 guy i didn't lean his name and companion guy. brother hood has like 20 named npcs. and my nora tries to minimize collateral damage so was gona side with brotherhood.

i f i do this do i have to kill the rail road companion guy? and do i fail all railroad quests? do i fail minute man?

if i build the teleporter do i become hostile to rivle factions?

 

think that bout covers my questions :smile:

video was prity good. 1 question. any one know if it maters who you build the teleporter with? i wanna do it with brother hood just cause i fell like they are the logical choice being most technologically advanced out of all the other groups

Afaik, if you want to reach 100% positive ending with peace between all factions, you must build teleporter with minuteman, but imo this type of ending is very difficult to get on it's own, it's kinda buggy and game kindoff forces you to take sides and exterminate competition, even if you're high rank in "opposite" side, which is imo stupid and unnecessary but oh well.
