Build & decorate with objects from other games

Hi, I don't know how difficult this would be to implement, but I'd love to be able to build houses & objects from other games in Fallout 4 if we have them installed on our PC, for instance things from Alien: Isolation, Fallout 3, Skyrim, Bioshock games, or Oblivion. I know its possible to do because there are mods like morroblivion/skyoblivion/skywind, and I don't really mind if certain objects wouldn't fit the lore etc, as I'm simply requesting this because it would be a lot of fun. Thanks for reading & considering!

Problem is, unless you remake those things from scratch - it's not legal.

It's a copyright violation to use content without permission from it's creator/owner.

How is it not legal if the mod creator isn't uploading the objects nor are they claiming ownership or creatorship of them?, they are simply creating the mod to help place the objects from your copy of said game into Fallout 4? As I said in the suggestion, you'd need to own a copy of said game on your PC. If it weren't legal then mods like Garry's Mod, OpenMW, skywind/skyoblivion etc wouldn't be around.

Skywind's making all their content from scratch, so it is irrelevent.

The other projects are really only around because Bethesda hasn't actively issued a takedown. Garry's mod is another matter, but a lot of stuff that is done with it is still not legal (use of content without copyright holders permission), it's just that no one chases people for doing it (games companies would have to send Valve/the modder takedown notices, etc).

You can make something that resembles a model from Oblivion for example, that's fine, but to completely rip a mesh or whatever directly from Oblivion and input directly into fallout 4 isn't allowed on this site, even though it is theoretically possible. If you made it yourself, and kept it to yourself, that's also technically ok I guess, because no one would know.

Although I believe certain game companies, like CDPR, have released their assets to the public in the past if I'm not mistaken.

So am I understanding correctly that; to both show people how to do themselves OR create a program & release it, that copies textures/models/sounds from one game that you own, to another game that you own, (example Fallout 4 in Skyrim) is not legal? To make it clear, there will be no claims of copyright ownership, nor transmitting copyrighted content to other parties, nor receiving monies with said examples.

If so, is this the case worldwide or just in the UK(where this site is based)?

Honestly if this is true, it's a terrible law that should be abolished in my opinion. I really don't care who might disagree. It makes no sense if you own both products and want to use them together in whichever way you see fit. I know that if it is indeed the law of the land where this website resides, that you don't intend to break said laws. However, I would encourage discussion on them.

I don't know anything about UK laws, but the law isn't really the main issue here, it's against the rules of this site, first and foremost, and breaking these rules will likely get you banned, and your files removed. As a private site, they're free to make whatever rules they like.

You know that window that comes up where you accept terms and conditions when you install a game? Stealing assets from the game is usually specifically outlawed by the terms and conditions, and I believe it mentions something similar on one of the screens that show up before the main menu. As I said, if you do it, and don't distribute anything or upload anything, then probably no one would be able to find out, and technically you'll be ok because you aren't breaking the rules of this site.
