Can't Load Mods

I recently installed far harbor, and now I cannot load my save. This is because when loading the save, FO4 says that the mods that I was previously using (quite a few) are not installed. (They are.) I cannot just load anyways. It will crash. I've tried various fixes, and they have not worked. The .ini files are edited, and the only problem I can find is that I can't change the folders from read only. I can physically uncheck them, and apply, but as soon as I launch the game, and go back to check, they are read only again. I've also unchecked it whilst in-menu, but it still goes back to read only.

You are not alone. Struggling with this myself. I've checked dozens of times that all my mods are up to date, made sure to use no UI type mods just in case, reordered with latest LOOT, deleted and refreshed ini files, correct lines added to enable mods, completely deleted the entire game and reinstalled...I'm at my wits end. The trainwreck started as soon as Far Harbor was installed, that dlc is messing with modding big time.

UPDATE

 

Fixed the game saying the mods aren't there by deleting the mod files from the game directory

 

Now, after loading, the game crashes immediately

You should load the mods via bethesda.net and activate the mods from there (they show up as unactivated in the online load order) Just tick them as active. Save load order, by exiting with esc. The game will return to main menu and you can load your old save.
