BleakWand
Hi I want to edit my fallout_default.ini so I can change my Archive to this; (SArchiveList=Fallout - Voices1.bsa, ArchiveInvalidationInvalidated!.bsa, Fallout - Textures.bsa, Fallout - Textures2.bsa, Fallout - Meshes.bsa, Fallout - Sound.bsa, Fallout - Misc.bsa).Everytime I try to edit it, I will go to save and then it'll come up saying 'Acess denied', it's not on 'Read only' so I don't know what the problem is. Help is much appreciated, thanks.
Sakugen
In some cases, I've found, depending on where things are installed... Windows 7, if that's what you're using, will not let you save changes to files. An easy way around this is to copy the file to your desktop, edit and save it there, which it should let you do.. then copy it back over where it was originally. If that's at all helpful.. luthienanarion
You don't have user permissions to modify the file.
PowderdToastMan
make sure you are in the administrator profile when editing things like that. also, if that doesnt work, move your steam folder out of your program files and onto a user profile
stealthtank91
it wont let you overwrite the file whilst editing it. what i do is save it to desktop as a txt file. exit the notepad then change the file back to ini by renaming it to fallout.ini and putting it back into the original directory. Vritravolkan
I figured out how to get around it saying it's only a Read.Me file. Right click on Fallout_Default click on properties and uncheck read.me only click ok. This should let you edit it and save no problems. I recommend putting it back to read.me only (im not tech savvy) because I don't know if that will cause any problems, If it isn't a read me only
