jumpsteadeh
How do I turn a static mesh into an armor item? I've been working with Nifskope and Outfit Studio so far for Fallout 4. Edited May 23, 2016 by jumpsteadeh
Perraine
AFAIK, it's not really something that can be done ... easily. The mesh needs dismember nodes, and skin partitions, and probably a few other things, plus every vertex needs to be weighted to specific bones on the skeleton, otherwise the game won't know how to move them. Not something that can be done without knowledge of a 3D application such as Blender or 3DS I don't think.

Is there a way for me to just connect it to that armor piece so it behaves the same?
Perraine
Not that I know of, without a 3D program. Outfit Studio has a "weight paint" feature, but I've never used it, you could check google and see if there are any tutorials about on how to do it. That "might" work. You might also want to put a post in the actual FO4 Forums as well. Sometimes the more experienced modders will look there instead of here in the general forums.
