How about a C4 RC?

Yah. Technically a car/motorcycle/plane/helicopter/boat is a mount. This is proven by TES: 4 Oblivion. Cars would have to work the same way as Horses. Since Oblivion and Fallout run on the same engine we know it is possible but it is really hard to do and that is why there aren't many vehicle mods for Fallout however there are tons for Oblivion. The developers must have removed the mount options from the G.E.C.K. making this really hard to do and impossible to do without FOSE/NVSE. To make a mod like this basically the car would have to be a mount you aren't actually on instead you stay stationary while the mount moves.

Another way to do this would be to design the car like a controllable NPC that whenever you talk to it you drive it. Just some thoughts.

I don't want to send people out to kill themselves, that'd be pretty evil.

I loled. I have been wanting a car in Fallout 3/New Vegas for a while and have tried making one before. I just can't see it being done unless you have a team of at least 5 modders that specialize in all different things. And btw I looked at the motorcycle mod and it is pure s***.

I could imagine having a car, running Deathclaws over, having drive-bys on Freeside!

You know that's probably why there aren't cars because then you could just kill anything by running it over.

I don't think running over a deathclaw would instantly kill it.

My Anti-Material Rifle needs to land a good three or four headshots to kill one.

Maybe instead of running over things it would hit them and they would fly off to the side and fall down.

Two things:

Stop hitting the reply button to the bottom right of every post. This thread consists of about 70% quotes in volume. Use the Add reply button on the top or bottom.

Secondly, you can push people away from the car using PushActorAway command. Though before all this there should be the actual car in game. Otherwise all this discussion is pointless. Maybe that guy who made the Anchorage Tank thingy for FO3 would make another one for FNV.

Actually I got another proposal. The basic idea is to have a mobile bomb right? So why not use a scaled down Sentry-bot model (The burly badass kind) and have a sort of detonator in hand such that when it fires, it marks the place where the crosshair is and sends the robot that way, which promptly explodes on reaching its destination. This is very easily done by any modder but it comes with limitations.

1) You cannot drive it like a car. The camera stays with the player. The player can merely direct the robot by pointing the crosshair at the target (either keep it on the target like a laser-target system or just fire on it after which the robot follows it without aid).

2).. Umm actually thats it. Unless you are really hellbent on it being a car....

EDIT: I've got a small window of free time now, so if everyone approves I would like to make this. Though if you are of two minds on this, please promptly say so.

He wants the RC car from Call Of Duty 7.

I like the ideas on this page...some have really fired my imagination for mods :P thanks.

I hope nobody minds if I totally steal them and make mods out of them :P

I'll credit whoever gave me the ideas if I do.

I'm really liking specifically the explosive/detonator darts. and the suicide-bomb robots..I can see how I'd do it, in point of fact, there's already a mini-sentry bot toy in the files, but I would probably use an adjusted version of the brainbot mesh. remove the arms, wrap it in explosives....

actually this sounds a lot like the little spider-bombs from Operation Anchorage.

the explosive darts thing sounds hilarious, I'd want to make it stealthy, so I can stick people with bombs and they'll never notice :P

can just imagine sneaking through a fiend camp attaching explosives to most of the population, then sneak out, detonate...enjoy fireworks XD

problem is that in most cases, the only way to attach things to NPCs is to hurt them, which sends them hostile.

as far as an RC car goes, making a laser guided robot would probably be your best bet. otherwise you have to get embedded in all kinds of camera and control shenanigans.

Feel free to make stuff just make sure to give credit to whoever you took the idea from and also make sure you ask permission and credit whoever you take part of a mod from.
