Anyone else getting both PC and a console version of Skyrim?

  1. 1. Are you buying both a PC and Console version?

Early November's going to be quite costly on me.

Halo anniversary, Skyrim, I don't know if I have to pay for the full version of Minecraft or not, but there's that. And BF3.

Normally I get about 4 games a year tops, but this year I'm actually excited for titles I know might have some quality to them.

Now, I plan to cough out EXTRA dough to get both versions of the game. Not because I am such a loyal consumer I'm about to whip out even more cash for them, it's because I have a problem.

I cheat.

I cheat madly, I'd stopped looking up cheats online after the xbox 360 came out, but for some reason I found them in TES.

Whenever something scary comes up, ~, killall, done.

Or my most used, movetoqt. I remember these commands by heart.

I can't help it. For those of you who watch the Yogscast and watch Simon uncontrollably loot every god-forsaken thing in Witcher 2 while making the video, driving you partly insane, I imagine my urge to cheat is like his urge to loot.

I'm worried I might ruin whatever story experience there may be by playing it on the PC and just cheating all over the place. (Luckily, mind you, I didn't get this habit until about half way into the Shivering Isles... ruining my only liked story line from Oblivion and it's DLC.)

The reason I'm getting the PC version as well is because I would be saying something like, "Oh, I remember Oblivion! What fun!" when I saw the Skyrim trailer if it weren't for the mods that have kept me coming back through the years.

So, a question to test my madness with a poll, who else is doing this? NOTE: It doesn't have to be for the same reason as myself that you buy both.

EDIT!: Also, if you're going to say RENT Skyrim from Redbox or what have you, while still buying a full version of the game, that works too as a yes/maybe.

No: I don't own a console, and have no desire to buy one. At least, not one Skyrim's going to be released on. PC gaming's good enough for me.

As for the cheating thing, I do that a lot too. However, my pattern's different so I'm not really worried about it. I only cheat to get past things I've gotten sick of doing, like Dragon Age II's "Kill hundreds of enemies who drop from the sky who die in one hit before you can continue this pointless fetch quest." Ironically for that example cheating with killallhostiles doesn't even speed things up all that much.

Y'know, you could just disable the console on the PC version.

A heroin addict COULD just put the needle out of sight.

I don't think you understand the severity of my addiction. :P

I wish I could get it for the pc, but my pc won't even play Oblivion on minimum settings. I preordered for my 360, but recently it's having trouble playing games, probably cuz it's 4 years old. I REALLY do not want to spend 60$ on a terrific game only to find it won't play. Edited by Violentguy
