It's surely not perfect but the generic mechanic seems to work fine. Now, Vault 118 has something special to it. The people who live there decided to put "themselves" into robobrains to escape time. How cool would it be if you could do the same. But not only putting your brain into a metal bucket, rather being able to modify you robot-body at the robot workbench into whatever you like.
