maboru
The game engine has been heavily kludged since FO3, as it is you are only running the bare minimum requirements. I'd suggest getting Configator - http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=40442 - and setting everything to minimum(including reducing your resolution) to see if that helps then increasing your settings one at a time until you reach the optimum that your rig can run. Also try this - http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=40128 - and perhaps running windowed with this - http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=42956 - (or regular windowed if this doesn't work). KingXVI
I downloaded the files and put everything at the lowest value and now the game is suddenly running smoothly, thanks! I'll now play a bit with the sliders I guess.
iansaltman
Steering away from Shadows and FOV as well as vsync, HDR, and bloom will help a lot, your water should be set to everything low except for reflections- those can be on. Try using a medium texture setting, it is a very good balance for the game. Dont take your card too far though- what happened was your card wasnt able to render everything properly at an efficient enough speed- so that caused crashes. If you need any further help feel free to PM me or catch me in chat- Im generally available at all times. Also be sure to give Maboru some kudos- he is a very helpful poster :)
