Robotics Expert Perk is useless

So, in patch 1.3 bethesda introduced a bug in the robotics expert that would let you hack a robot from a distance, which I loved, but didn't abuse. In version 1.4 they patched it so you had to be besides the robot to hack it, which is, in my opinion, dumb(Yeah, bethesda, I want to run up to an assaultron to hack it just to get grabbed by it's auto-execution animation and get killed in the process)(Also, i want to trigger a robot's self destruction sequence when i'm literally less than 2 feet away).

I thought that it was an awesome change because if your character wasn't built like a tank in survival, you could sneak up on the robot patrol and use shock and awe tactics by blowing up their sentry then attacking.

 

Could anyone revert this patch back to it's 1.3 state, but only if you are sneaking? I think it would actually pass as lore friendly, as if you hijacked the robot's radio frecuency and hacked it, but if the robot had detected enemies, it would cut it's own radio reciever to prevent hostile hacking. Otherwise the RE perk is useless but for the crafting bench, and I don't want to spend 3 valious perk points
