Sarou89
Hi everyone !Do you know if they have "nerfed" the robotic perk ?It took me a long time to figure out how to use it, at the begining I used it only on protectrons. Then I discovered we could use it at mid-range / short-range distance when aiming, like the perks to seduce animals, monsters and humans. And it was very useful, especially for Automatron DLC. But not ultime because the time for the animation to start, that I died many times ^^ It was cheated because we could pirate robots at long range too. Never worked for me though, each time my character lowered the aiming-scope, she didn't use her pip-boy to hack after.. But I have the feeling that the perk doesn't work anymore, since 1-2 weeks.Didn't try on protectrons, but now I have a servomech junkbot at my feet, litterally, and I can't hack him.Are they immune now.. ? Am I the only one ? Thanks ! Edit: Try on protectrons, it worked on them within earshot (Fallout earshot..!) when inactive. But at medium-range.. ? Does it work for you ? dazzerfong
It was fixed recently (one of the patch notes mentioned it). In the past, it was pretty close, then when Automatron came out, it was as you described. Now it's back to normal (as it should be).
Sarou89
Yes they said: "Fixed distance check with Robotics Expert perk " in the .1.5.151 . But it appears I can't "pirate-aim" like the other perks (animals, creatures, humanoids), except from very short distance. Weird. Thanks for your answer. djangoku
Ok, mabye i did understand the problem in the first read :D So let me say that again. The ranged hacking wasnt intended and therefor fixed. But i thought you wrote, that now you cannot hack any robot at all? You have to be pretty close, as you said. But iirc they also changed it, that it works while in combat, so you dont have to sneak up on them. The difference to the other perks simply is, they are only chance based and can fail, hacking can not fail. So this limit is pretty fair imho. Yes sorry, problem with my english :tongue:But in fact I don't even know if I can hack hostile robots. I had a servomech junkbot at my feet, litterally, running into him, and I couldn't hack him at all, even if I aimed him. I died trying.I should try being furtive and hide, in their back. But it sounds pretty complicate ^^ You're right, there are no fails so it's pretty fair. But being so hard it's almost useless, unless having a furtive character. Thank for the reply. Edit: didn't see it, but someone suggested a mod to correct the correction of Bethesda ^^ https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/4173365-robotics-expert-perk-is-useless/ Edited May 24, 2016 by Sarou89
