Ellixen
Hello, I'm back. I'm trying to set up a sleep script for soldiers who are camped outdoors. I used the basic script but I'm really new to this. I have my soldier set to stop selling merchandise at 10 pm then sleep from 10 'till 8 (10 hours). Sounds simple enough however when its time for him to sleep he instead runs to my character trying to get me to leave. And so i fast travel and return and he's asleep. When its time for him to wake up... 8 goes by and he sleeps, 9, asleep, 10, asleep and so on. I really did do the basic sleeping script, so is there any way to get him to ignore "kicking me out" and just go straight to bed. Also, I do have complete if pc is nearby or something like that checked for the sleeping, is that what's causing him to sleep forever or is there some sort of script i need to make separate to help him wake up? Any help is much appreciated, thank you.
GreatLucifer
Also, I do have complete if pc is nearby or something like that checked for the sleeping, Uncheck all the "Continue if PC near" flags. On all your packages... As the only reason to use it, is to keep someone from doing stuff while you're still in their house / shop. Nothing an outdoor-merch would need. And yes, that is what is likely causing all your problems. Edited August 6, 2011 by GreatLucifer

Well it fixed the waking up problem, but they still won't go to sleep if i'm there, they just keep chasing me saying its time to go, and they chase me far, i mean back to the imperial city far lol
bencebence
Hm, does he lock any door during any of the packages?
Ellixen
Hm, does he lock any door during any of the packages? If you mean the lock door flag, no, he just sleeps in a tent in the middle of the wilderness, also, getting ahead of myself I have some other characters of the same camp, eat from 8-11, and they're scripted to sleep at 11 for 13 hours... a problem with them that i just noticed is that they teleport from the table to the sleeping position in the bedroll
GreatLucifer
Than you might want to look at pathgridding as well.... As for the sending-you-away-to-sleep thing, I'm at a loss. As far as I'm aware, the continue-flag and indeed lock-flags are the only things to cause it. On a sidenote, I'm assuming you're talking about packages. Not scripts... fg109
If the tent is owned by the NPC, and the NPC doesn't have his services package running, then the player is trespassing. The NPC will attempt to chase the player away.
Hickory
fg109 is correct. Instead of having the tent owned by the NPC, why not put your soldiers in a unique faction that you are also in, and have the tent owned by the faction rather than individual NPCs? Ellixen
Thanks for your replies, I found the problem, see the other soldiers went to sleep no problem even with the bed under their ownership. The difference between them and their captain is that their captain is also selling goods. He does the same thing when his eat package (thanks for the correction) activates. Is there any way to get him to skip the "close shop" phase he has inbetween? Also, I still have the problem of when they get up from their meal to enter the 'sleep' package, they teleport into their beds. I have it set, for example, eat 8 for 3 hours (ending at 11) then from 11 for 13 hours sleep.
Hickory
It might help if you listed (with details) his packages, in the order you have them in the CS.
