HOW does MODs WORK ?As above there are differnt kind of MODs.For example If i "active" (flagging from data file) the ESP Mods all the other can work anyway or i need to start Oblivion with launcher because i need to use the OBSE or OMOD mods too ?I need to be sure all MODs i load for Oblivion run correctly before begin a new game .... Thanks a lot in advance to everybodyStefano - Milano - Italia
HeyYou
Oblivion mod manager will also allow you to activate/deactivate mods. ESM files do indeed go into the data folder, they are Master files.... more than likely you will also have ESP files that depend on them. (and won't work without 'em...) If you want to use mods that require OBSE, you MUST use the OBSE_Launcher.
SANTAST
" ..... If you want to use mods that require OBSE, you MUST use the OBSE_Launcher....." OK, but what about all the other which doesn't need OBSE_launcher ? Does they work anyway ? Same thing using OMOD into OBMM ?
scrivener07
None obse mods will work fine launched with the obse launcher
HeyYou
OMOD are just a method of installation. OBSE simply inserts a .dll into the oblivion.exe, so the extended script commands will work. If your english comprehension is good, check out Tomlongs' site....... It has some great info for the player just starting out with mods.
SANTAST
OK thanks, now is more clear. Just a simple opinoin; in your game/experience how many MODs would be better to install ? I've just dowloaded around 50 and more or less about weapons, NPC, or other to optimize the game graphics. What is your oopinion about ? Are they too many or enaught ? Candex
Highly Recommended Advice: INSTALL MODS ONE-BY-ONE. I stress this even further if you are new to mods! You may find that some of the mods you have will give you a bit of trouble. When you install them all at once, it gets really hard to tell which mod is the one causing the conflict. Oh, and Oblivion has a limited amount of mods that you can keep running at the same time. I think it is somewhere around 300 .esp but I am not sure.
